<<Yep, in my one Minute Later, Baron Karza (a strategist and powerful
villain) has turned his back on his opponents, the Micronauts, to say in a
word balloon "Patience is a virture Mr. Finn.">>
Which MICRONAUTS cover was being referenced in your commission,
Michael?

I would gladly make the three hour drive.
•••
At the other end of that spectrum, there are a remarkable number of people who seem to think distance traveled = some kind of bargaining chip. It used to seem like about every other con, we'd get to the end of the last day, I'd be all packed up to leave the con floor, and someone would come up to my table with a stack of books, expecting them to be signed. I would plead (a) all my stuff put away, including my pens and (b) con's over and I'm tired, and the response would almost always be "I came XXX miles and this is the first chance I've had to get to your table."* If I was in a particularly grumpy mood I'd come back with something like "Hey! I came XXX miles, and I didn't get anything signed!"
*For some reason people would often feel the need to "sweeten" this by telling me they didn't get to my table because they were "stuck in line all day" at the table of the latest flavor of the month, charges for autographs, takes three hour breaks "hot" artist.

It suprises me how stupid people can be, how is that supposed to garner sympothy? By waiting for that "latest flavor" they made their choice of who was more important to them.

John, have you sworn off cons for good, or are you simply on an extended sabbatical from cons?

Or maybe I could pick my next commission up in person, then buy lunch.
Not a bad offer, JB. ;-)

All this "I have it in writing" with deadlines, etc -- not much that can be done here except civil action -- but when Golden supplied Gerry with that piece -- that now dances dangerously close to criminal charges of fraud. All of this used the internet and mail system - so you should talk with the USPS Inspectors. I've worked a few cases with these guys over the years - and they may be interested in this one -- theres' not much to actually prosecute, but if you find the right inspector, they may go out and "talk" to Golden and give him a little fright. The internet (wire) was used to solicit a product and the US Mail was used to execute the fraud. It's thin - but it't there.

Glad to hear it.
Nobody should support behavior like that.
