It's not so much that Jack Kirby's Spider-Man "would have sucked" so much as he would have been a completely different character, and we wouldn't have the web slinger we all grew up with and the Marvel Comics Group wouldn't have had it's number one super-star.

Most sources I've read and heard from industry pros attribute Ditko for the Spidey we know and recognize. I agree with JB, give Kirby his credit for co-creating most of the silver-age Marvel Universe except the Lee/Ditko Spider-Man.

Was the last picture drawn by JB? I saved it and I have to frame it and hang it on the wall. I like Kirby's work more than Spider-Man so I like it. All Kirby's characters look like Galactus or Psycho-Man, so does this one.

That is a fun little image, JB.
I think that it's best the way Spidey worked out, but I have no doubt a Jack
Kirby created Spider-Man strip would have been great fun, like everything
else he did in the 60's.

Wow, I've been looking at that AF15 cover for more than 3 decades, and JB's recreation is the first time I've ever noticed there are speed lines behind Spider-Man.

Cool! We got to see a partly-recreated cover to "Amazing Fantasy" #15 by JB!
Edited to note: LOL! I just noticed it says "Peter PALMER" on that cover!

After seeing JB's interpretation of the unused costume design, is it just me, or does it look like a recolored knockoff of DC Sandman's purple and yellow costume or the Black Hood?

I think I read someone claiming to have a convesation with Kirby in which
Kirby admitted to having fabricated a lot of the claims he made to creating
the Marvel Universe by himself, in order to strike back at Marvel for the
whole "Giving Jack His Art" controversy. Unfortunately, I can't seem for the
life of me to remember where I read it. It might be in CJL's Kirby book. I'll
have to check.
