David you've said quite a a lot about what I shouldn't do, but nothing constructive about what I should. I'm not trying to annoy you, I just think Wiki is an interesting thing that can be more interestinger with some tweaks and adjustments. Let's start there and move forward as friends. lol

One constructive suggestion would be to contribute to anenvironment of truth and some semblance of neutrality (one of the objectives/goals of the site in question) instead of contributing to the cult of idiots who get their rocks off by spreading deliberate disinformation.

Flog, flog...... lolz

I am scared of people who end every post with LOL. I imagine them sitting in front of their computer laughing like the Joker as they type.

A factual resource should not be "funny." It should be factual. This is obvious.

What if the facts are funny, though? Like when Kwame Brown threw a birthday cake at someone last week? sf*

I read about that birthday cake incident today, not on wikipedia, but in 'reputable' Sports Illustrated. So wikipedia doesn't make everything up.

I don't think anyone suggested WIkipedia makes everything up. Just that the current system allows mistaken or malicious misinformation to be entered, putting the validity of it all into question.

In regards to my posts "telling" Randy what to do... I often rail against vast generalizations, so it is not a personal attack. A positive suggestion might be to question the rationale of putting in fake info just because you can.

I can't. Disinformation -- deliberate disinformation --
is disinformation. The site is still left suspect and
worthless.

My point wasn't a defense of the site (something I would never do), my
point was that adding a paragraph about baking pancakes is a lesser
offense than deliberate character assassination, however the website as a
whole is still worthless.

Adding false information to Wikipedia is funny, as long as it's not
direct character assassination, and even if it's not character assassination,
I don't condone it (though I have done it).

Wikipedia is useless regardless, I've vandalized Wikipedia before, I know
this to be true (unless Dante really was a transvestite, but I doubt it).

My school won't accept it as a source, for damn good reason, it's a really
bad source, really, really bad.

But David, I didn't do it just because I could - I did it for the sake of comedy and keeping an audience entertained. Gotta keep traffic up - gotta keep the advertisers happy.

Based on how talented and entertaining you make yourself out to be, I'm disappointed you cannot come up with more creative ways to do so. Or does your skill and precision only come into play in these sorts of efforts?

No but in the summer when the NBA is not in session and once free agency is over, there's really nothing going on in pro basketball, unless you like the WNBA. lol

I try to balance the topical with the humor, so in those months, sometimes I'll have to resort to such tomfoolery. That said, my skills still cannot be denied. lol

+++++++++++++

And what advertisers would those be?

Another admitted vandal. Message board trolls, Wiki-trolls.... trolls all the same, just of a slightly different color. Same smell.
