Sad news indeed. I just learned about this. I grew up with his Legion of Superheroes and loved his X-Men work. He drew the best Timber Wolf.

I've loved Nightcrawler since i first saw him. I really loved Mr Cockrum's work since I first saw it, too. He's a legend. He'll be missed...

I too thought -- hoped -- that this thread was some kind of mistake or bad joke or weird metaphor or something. This is very sad news. Dave was amazing.

His costume designs for the Legion made me a fan of his artwork, his storytelling abilities made me a fan of his artistry.

I knew he had not been well, but still.. much too young.
