Nice work everyone. Sorry for my absence. I have started a new job that has tied up a lot of my time. I -had- started something for the Batman illo, waaay back -LOL. And bummed that I missed Gregg's great suggestion.
I'm unsure if I'll get the time to contribute to this one either. But the workload I have taken on may lighten in April...not sure.
Here's the rough for Batman:

Darren, beautiful figure work! His proportions are just as I picture Batman to look like. I love his cowl and face too.

That Omega Flight cover was wonderful. Well done.
"There was always something sexy about Diamond Lil."
Agreed - at least in her original outfit and attitude. Never liked the
reformation (seemed to ignore that there must have been a reason they
nicknamed her "Creepy" Crawley) and if I recall there was a horrid outfit
change for a while.

Interesting Dave. I never saw her reformation. After Byrne left I never picked the books up except for a couple that Mignola did.

I have been working on the MONTHLY challenge in the background... I will be posting the pieces I have been storing up... I couldn't participate officially cause of work load... as it is... the JB challenge 2 took days out of my work...
but I will add my art just like Darren's sneek peek several posts before...

Darren, good to hear form you... that Batman looks sharp. You've got a great handle on anatomy, as well as body language. I hope your new job is in a art related field.
George- look forward to seeing your postings.

Allright George! your first post assignment for this thread was a fun idea. That Byrne Marvel Team-Up with Red Sonja is one of my favorites!
Your FF 4 pager was really interesting too. It reminded me of Cerebus but only in relation to its sophistication of simplicity.

okay... here are my concepts that I tried to do, but work load was front and center... so I never tipped my hat into the mix for the monthlys....
wolverine -fast ball special- a split second before logan dies, his skeleton showing as his flesh and clothing burns...
simple... no explanation...
the concept for Batman was to have him over shadow the city and the villians, much like standard SPIRIT covers and intro splash pages...

Favorite Xman montage. I'm so in.
Can I do some of the old ones? I didn't find the JB board till last month and this forum until today. Of course, that would asking for some fudging of the rules. I just read through all the months and each one sparked an idea in my head. Not all are very good ideas, but they are ideas.

George - Cool concepts!
Stephen- Old.. New... a X-Man is a X-Man. Do whatever will make it fun and challenging for you.
I use these monthlies as a chance to push myself creatively, but must of all, I figure out a way to spin the assignment into something that is going to make it interesting for me. Something, that I can look forward to picking up and getting lost in for a few hours a couple nights each week. This has really turned out to be a fun hobby.
