NRAMA: First of all, who will be drawing Ultimate Spider-Man after the departure of Mark Bagley?

JQ: While I can’t announce this just this second, I can tell you that it’s a fan favorite artist and this person has a reputation for being one of the best storytellers in the business and does it consistently and monthly.

NRAMA: Here at Newsarama we’ve heard that a certain controversial artist who hasn’t worked at Marvel since you’ve taken over could be taking over the book. Is this true or have we just been “burned” by a rumor?

JQ: I can neither confirm nor deny this.

Hmmm...I am only gonna say this: "one of the best storytellers in the business and does it consistently and monthly" certainly describes one of Byrne's virtues as an artist.

If this happens to be true, I am gonna be sooooooooo happy.
If it's not true, well...it's Marvel's loss.

I'd be VERY surprised if it were true.  As in "floored".

I tell you though, it would have me buying a monthly title for the first time since "Bone".  I can't believe how much I miss comics sometimes.

Maybe this will be John Romita Jr's return to Spider-Man.  That reputation certainly fits him.

As much as I'd love to see this, I'd bet a kidney it's not going to happen.

Someone mentioned Tom Grummet. I think that's a viable possibility, and he fits that description as well, IMO.

I see your kidney and two lungs. Last time JB was asked if he'd go back to marvel, a month or two ago(?), I believe he said no under the current regime.

Yes, but until JB puts the kibosh on this latest rumor, it remains a ... possibility.

If JB were going to draw Ultimate Spider-Man, I would start buying it again.

JB on Ultimate Spiderman? At JQ's Marvel? No way this is going to happen.

While it is cold enough outside that hell may have frozen over, I don't see any flying pis through my window.

I think it is just some wishful thinkers jumping to what would be a wonderful conclusion.

C'est la vie
