Rance;
You said you were a fan of the Ultimate titles: that was the crap I was
referring to.
Expressing an opinion is not being an asshole. I'll admit that perhaps
how I did it was being an asshole, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
"Marvel's" Ultimates line are crap. Crap crap crap crap crap.
But you have a nice day, now, and don't let anything that any anonymous
person says on the internet upset you.
Take care and be well.

No, you can say that you think something you don't like is crap. Your opinion is not a fact.

Greg (and Rance, for that matter):
Neither of you has a clue about me, my motivations, or my personality, so
let's not pretend you do. Just as I don't know diddly squat about you.
But I do know a whole bunch about books that I've spent money on, read,
and concluded that they are crap. Crap crap crap crap crap.
And I can say that all I like.
But once again, please, both of you, have a nice day, be well, and don't let
yourselves be troubled by the opinion of an anonymous person on the
internet.

I love these semantical arguments over whether something is "in fact" crap, or whether it is simply one mans opinion that it is crap, which is not necessarily a fact.
Honestly, most Americans read what the crap slinger said as being his opinion, which, may be insulting to someone who enjoys the Ultimate "universe" but, really, if you care what someone else thinks about the comics you are reading you might be a little too sensitive.

Finally, Greg, it should be obvious that my opinion is not fact. I'm not
going to candy-coat an opinion or telegraph it with a big flashing
disclaimer. I'm going to state it and depend on the intelligence of others to
determine that it is obviously an opinion.
So again, of course I can say that something I don't like is crap.
Please have a good day, and be well.

I was just expressing my opinion that you were being an asshole Al, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Now lets not hijack the nice lady's thread with your vitriol okay?

I just love how the board, and how the internet allows us to learn about hte obscure shows like The Starlost. Just took a quick look at this episode guide. Noticed that Harlin Ellison had a hand in it. Cool stuff.

Todd:
I remember The Starlost as being very cool, but as I said, I'd almost be
afraid to see it now for fear of how well it would stand up! There is some
interesting stuff that went on behind the scenes with Ellison, that's for
sure, and a couple of great books that came out of that experience --
Phoenix Without Ashes, and one satirical one by Bova I think, but I can't
remember the title.
---
Rance:
Now that's more like it! Although the only vitriol that I noticed was when
the word "asshole" was first introduced to the discussion.
---
More about avatars folks!

Todd,
Thanks for the great pic. Unfortunately I must be doing something wrong because all I get is that annoying little red "X" in the corner of a white box. To say that I'm a computer idiot would be a grave insult to true idiots, but I'm sure you get the point. Thanks nonetheless.
On another note, I'm a pinstripe bleeding Yankee fan, complete with accompanying arrogance, BUT I LOVE YOUR SIG LINE! I guess it's time to make it a seven year old kid. Please enjoy my pain with all appropriate Bostonism!
Best,
TT

Mine is the logo of my design company, which is currently on hold as I persue other interests.
So I guess it is currently serving as the initials of my name, squared.
I've never changed it. I thought about it a couple of times, but I kind of like the branding that the repetition provides.
I did have the idea of doing 20 or 30 versions of the logo and replacing them from time to time, but I'm lazy.
