What or who is your avatar and why did you choose it?

It's just me anno 2003 (I think), so for updated version add some wild, feral sideburns that is just slightly separated from the rest of the beard covering chin and mouth area. :)

I choose it partly because I am lazy and it's the image I use in a community of which I am part ( http://www.helgon.net NOTA BENE! The site is primarily in Swedish). Secondly, as I was asked to use my real name rather than an alias (which I use to sign off with most of the time, instead), I figured the picture would fit.

So... I guess it's less of an avatar, in the strictest sense, and more of a simple photo of yours truly. :)

What about you, Jo? What's the story behind your avatar?

It's Harvey Keitel in Martin Scorsese's "Who's That Knocking at My Door?".  I chose it because it was used by Morrissey as a stage backdrop (and t-shirt) on his 1991 tour, and I always found the image amusing.  Morrissey is my favorite singer, but I really didn't want a Moz avatar, preferring something more "out there".  I didn't even know it was Harvey Keitel until 10 minutes ago, when I looked it up!  :)

So, Jeff, you've been living off Harvey's reputation and looks without even knowing. ;)

Thanks man, that just gave me a well-needed laugh. :)

Jeff's is one of my favorite avatars around here.  Morrissey has a great eye.  He's designed most of the Smiths's album covers and sleeves, right?

Mine own is from a JB drawing called "Blood and Guts", from THE ART OF JOHN BYRNE book.  I picked it a couple of months ago.  Suited my mood perfectly.  Been thinking about going shopping for a new one, recently.

It's me as The Greatest American Hero with "the suit" on under his street clothes, taken on Halloween a few years back.  I really dig the show and I figured it would be appropriate for a comic book related board.  BTW, it's based on this promotional photo from the original series:

Meteor Man of the Galaxy Trio, from the Hanna-Barbera "Birdman" show of the sixties. A tribute to the voice work of the late, great Ted Cassidy.

And you, Jo? Is that a veil, or a "Killroy was here" riff?
