Batman wants to kill Joker, but he stops himself at the last moment. As Joker himself says before he begins to twist his own spine, "They'll kill you for this, and they'll never know that you didn't have the nerve."

Yes, I reread it before last posting on the subject. Batman. Did. Not. Kill. The. Joker. Read those two last pages of issue 3 again, Chad.
Chad, can you really say the Joker would not walk again due to that injury when Batman recovered nicely from a broken back a decade later? Only Barbara Gordon does not regain the ability to walk in comics.
Oh, and Professor X, - he regains and loses the ability quite regularly.

Only Barbara Gordon does not regain the ability to walk in comics.
Isn't that about to change? A friend of mine who reads BIRDS OF PREY mentioned some recent business about Babs taking a dip in a Lazarus pit and being able to wiggle her toes or something.

It's mainly the 'Superman is a dick' stuff he has Lois thinking in issue #2. Again, I might be predisposed to see this stuff even when it's not there.

Ok, I think I know what you mean. In that issue, though, Lois starts thinking something's happened to Superman, and that it's changed him. She's thinking he might be a threat. It read as pretty innocuous to me.

Frank, that did happen prior to OYL. I was hoping it would lead to Babs up and about, but not yet.
I'll gladly retract the "Only Barbara Gordon does not regain the ability to walk in comics" line to see that version of Batgirl again!

...As the Joker stabs him, Batman makes the decision - he breaks the Joker's neck, but doesn't kill him. The Joker tells Batman how disappointed he is - how Batman didn't have the nerve to finish him off, instead of paralyzing him. So the Joker twists his neck further, until he dies, laughing hysterically.

I just reread the first three issues of All-Star Batman and noticed something that may have been mentioned before.
There was much gnarling and gnashing of teeth online over the "I'm the Goddamn Batman" line when that issue came out. What I noticed, though, was Vicki Vale used the term "we got a Goddamn Bat Man" when reciting for her column earlier in that issue. Was Bruce privy to this info, or did she refer to Batman similarly before (she seemed to use a lot of "goddamns" in that issue)? Either way, is it possible Bruce is being solemnly deprecating when he introduces himself to Dick?
Again, could have been noticed and commented on before. Could be goddamn obvious but I missed it until the reread.

I seem to recall both All-Star books were supposed to be bimonthly. The plan was to release them on alternating months.

He's late on his All*Star book, and he's committed to relaunching
WildC.A.T.s too? I recall the latter was solicited as a bi-monthly to be
released this month, but it's changed to September 20th, and issue 2 is
solicited for November 15th. Promises, promises, promises.

I was under the impression that it wasn't Lee's fault that ASBARTBW was late.
Scuttlebutt I've heard is that he wants off the book, though.
