Is this the kid from that Bingham book - Son of the Demon, or whatever it was? Didn't DC disavow that as having any place in continuity? Or is it another kid that I'm not aware of?

I think it was originally considered out of continuity, but since Superman started punching walls (groan) that sort of thing is in flux now. Morrison (and DC by extension) have brought the story into continuity.

JB, would you care to provide more examples of Morrison's "throwaway lines"? How about you Patrick Drury?
I really am curious. Patrick, I don't know what qualifies as being "a
bigger Morrison fan" but I've read Doom Patrol, Animal Man, JLA, DC One
Million, a few issues here and there of Morrison's work on Flash, some
of his early DC Secret Origins stories, plus I'm currently buying Seven
Soldiers, All Star Superman, Batman and 52. What is this trend of
costume jokes to which you refer? Perhaps I've been too busy enjoying
the stories to notice...

And I guess he's super-pissed at Batman and been trained as the deadliest killer ever by the League of Assassins and all that stuff, right?

Knowing Morrison, he will probably take a year to establish a
father-son relationship between Batman and L'il Al-Ghul, then reveal
he's actually the son of the Penguin.
(Just a joke, just a joke !)

Morrison said it was in interviews, but the whole conception thing in the latest Batman (see above) doesn't mesh up with the original story. Significantly oversimplifying here, but Batman ends up working with Ra's for awhile and finally gives in to temptation where Talia is concerned. Talia gets pregnant. After a later battle, Talia says she's lost the baby and Batman goes off on his own again. Cut to the epilogue where someone finds the baby on their doorstep.
So maybe Morrison used the story as a springboard for his idea without bringing the original back in continuity. (And yeah, DC (via Denny O'Neil) said that story was non-canon years ago.)

Oh, I do think Morrison likes to wink at the audience. And I think some of Morrison's fans like it it when he winks at them."
I blush like a tender schoolgirl every time Morrison winks at me.

Maybe he has a twin sister, and they've been led to believe that Batman's their dad, when in reality, the Joker's their dad. Well, him, or Norman Osborn.

Brian, I'm not saying Morrison has established some kind of trend - that was JB and others. The only two times I've seen him do it (New X Men and the Batman book we're discussing) I've groaned - because, like I said, I find the costume jokes tired and unfunny (as they've been done quite a bit in comics and comic book movies). It's kind of a big easy target. I expect a talent like Morrison not to shoot at the easy ones, you know?
And I've read a lot more Morrison work than the stuff you listed but I didn't imagine that someone would read my "a bigger Morrison fan" comment as some kind of contest - but rather me professing my love for the man's work.

Also, Batman was drugged during the conception so it's possible that it
never even happened, which I'd prefer as I'm not big on Batman having been
raped.
---
I'm a bit confused, because I don't have the new issue yet. Is this what is
referred to in the issue? I had been assuming they were using the story from
Son of the Demon, where Batman and Talia considered themselves married
and were having marital relations.

Well, that's what confused me too because Batman was anything but drugged in Son of the Demon - which I really liked, by the way. I even had the print of the cover framed up.
