JB...

Weeks ago, I saw something odd/wrong... I believe that was the only time... if I remember correctly... with the marvel/dc piece...

The Superman/Iron Giant... nothings wrong... it's my favorite of all your commissions to date... Just saying the Geeky coolness of Iron Giant having the "s" symbol too... absolutely nothing implied as wrong...

This piece of art has hit all the right cords with me... Loved the movie... Love your art and your run on Superman... perfect all around...

JB-

I really like how happy Superman is in this piece.  It really is great.

In response to questions regarding previous commisions you commented on how you enjoy drawing fight scenes more as they are more fun.  Was doing this piece fun?  If the result is any indication, it looks like you were having fun.

Add me to the list of those who reacted to this one with a big smile.  Very sweet image..."sweet" as in tender and evocative...

Two pieces in two days. They're both beautiful. I can even see the Iron Giant smiling, truly spectacular.

Is the entire drawing of the robot from a reference pic, or was it an original pose?

I keep thinking "Joe Kubert" when I see the rendering on the Iron Giant.....not that that's a bad thing.

This one required a lot of mechanical drawing (not a pun!) with French curves, templates and straight edges, so it stretched some muscles in my brain I don't use much. So, yes, definitely fun!

I used one of the larger action figures as reference.

There's something about Superman's face in that drawing, especially around the mouth and jaw, that really made me think of George Reeves the moment I saw it.

Yeah, I'm just repeating what everyone else said, but I just have to.

Magnificent. Every one of these I see, I think 'oooo...better than the last one!'. This is just excellent. Thanks for sharing, JB.

What a great drawing.   I agree with the general sentiment of previous posters.  This one has something special.
