Maybe you've been asked this already, JB, but have these sketches and/or flipping through the books awakened anything in you in regard to the X-Men characters? For example, ideas for stories or "If I knew then what I know now" artistic decisions?

Storm's cape is my favorite part. It's almost like the lack of tiny detail lines and hatching and such has made it look more sleek and stark. Really, really cool.

Can, or should Cyclops miss a target? As long as he sees the target shouldn't he hit every time? I would think that is an advantage over those who shoot from their hands.

That's a great "observation" Thomas (no pun intended!) but I imagine as long as a target moves just ahead of where the eye can follow, he can miss his target.

It's an advantadge, but if a really hot broad crosses his horizon while he's fightin' baddies it can end up very badly...

What was the reasoning behind changing Storm's costume? It was (and still is) an awesome design.

Can, or should Cyclops miss a target?
****
Chris and I argued that point many a time. It was one of my ARGH Factors. See, I felt that it was impossible for Cyclops to miss anything he could see, but no matter what I drew, Chris would often write it that he was missing. This was especially frustrating in the Alpha Flight encounter, when I specifically told Chris in the margin notes that Cyke was trying to wing NorthStar, being fearful that a direct hit at Jen-Paul's speed might kill him. Chris wrote it as "he's moving so fast I keep missing". FehAnyway -- the beam goes where Cyke is looking, and as close to the speed of light that on the surface of the Earth it makes no never-mind. He can't miss.

And his control of his beams was also very well established from the beginning. In an eary Lee/Kirby tale, Cyclops slices a piece of birthday cake! Later in the new X-MEN Cyclops pulsates his beam to break Wolverine's fall from a great height without mashing his flesh into a pulp.
