Well even if you hate Bendis's mainstream work (your loss, I think, but
hey...). At least we have someone decent drawing Alpha Flight - even for so
short !

I picked up The New Avengers #16 for this story... shouldn't a comic that has 10 pages of splash pages, 9 of which are textless, one of which is a repeat of the previous page with a flame effect added, be half-price?

I think maybe I'm just grumpy because I miss the way they draw Spider-Woman's boobs.

I'm sorry I have to sign up just to say my anger towards Marvel and Bendis for the treatment of Alpha Flight. They are one of the most underrated and strongest Marvel teams out there. Alpha Flight was groundbreaking and covered things other comics wouldn’t even touch. I’m greatly upset that Bendis killed off characters with such a rich history and did it off-panel, I feel it’s a slap to the face of AF fans.

I'm just hoping Marvel still remember Vol.3, that this isn’t the real Alpha Flight. This is a Alpha Flight from a past divergent timeline and the real ones are on the Plodex home world with Earthmover and Mac and Heather’s daughter.

Meh. You've seen one comics death, you've seen 'em all.

How long can Marvel continue publishing if it kills off its characters, at the current rate of consumption?

But, Michael, it was all so well-scripted. What's wrong with you?
Can't you see the beautiful new outfit Emperor Bendis is wearing this
week?

Bendis asked the following on his message board......
http://www.606studios.com/bendisboard/showthread.php?t=561 55

SO, NOW THAT na 16 IS OUT, I HAVE A QUESTION...spoilers, whatever

if they're not dead and the stage is set for a major relaunch that returns them to thier former glory as a premiere team book by an a list creative team after the underwhelming last series...

hmmm...

Alpha Flight Vol 1, full of characters Bendis disposed of so carelessly in
an issue of New Avengers (I think of Steed, Purdy and Gambit whenever I
type that), probably sold much better (during JB's run, at least) than New
Avengers or any other Bendis-written comic ever has.

I pulled out my copies of JB's AF run to check the Statements of
Ownership, and discovered that none of the 28 issues included one! Is
there any reason for this? Were they not mailed second class (this is how
DC avoids disclosing its sales figures in SofOs, I've heard)? Seems odd
that AF would be handled differently than any other Marvel newsstand
book.

JB, you mentioned the your Alpha Flight #1 sold 500,000 copies -- how
were the sales for the rest of your run? What was the lowest figure?

Perhaps it was to balance out all the talky from the rest of his books.

I wouldn't even have minded if it was 10 pages of wordless action splashes. But the first 8 pages were two pictures of the Earth, a map of Alaska, three splashes of a flaming thing crashing into a post office, one splash of a man burning amidst the flames, and a close up of the flaming man. I don't get how anyone can say this first part is wonderful scripting or even interesting art.

Wasn't he brought back to life by the Hand at the end of that Wolverine storyline?

Yes. Last he was seen S.H.I.E.L.D. was working on deprogramming him like they did Wolverine.
