There is something akin to irony, I suppose, in the fact that DC, the company that launched the Silver Age by drawing a line in the sand and saying "Nothing before this point counts" so quickly turned into the company that strives mightily to make everything count.

If I could some day convince myself I was about half as good as Joe, I think I'd die happy.

Oh, cheer up, JB. You're about half as good as Joe.

I don't get what's so important about having perfect linear
continuity/chronology about any of this. I read a comic, am
either entertained or not, and then I put it down and live my life.
I don't think about it much, if any, between then and the next
issue. The only times would be while discussing it with other
comic fans. It makes me want to say stuff like "don't take it so
seriously" but that's not the right thing to say... that belittles
comics, which isn't right either.
I guess I could probably, with some effort, go back through my
comics and find some glitches in history or whatever. But I'm
not one of those guys who has committed to memory every line
and action and appearance of every character ever. There's
more important things, in my view, to be outraged over in the
world than "everybody knows Batman only has 6 pouches on
his belt, not 8!"
... especially since it's common knowledge he really wears a
belt with little pointy capsules on it anyway.... :-)

Say John, did DC and Johns talk to you about inserting the DP (with recons, re-recons... whatever) into the Titans and Infinite Crisis?

<,Hawkman's apparently not gonna be a major player in the
new DCU for a while, so it doesn't matter much anyway...
... which sucks, cause I like Hawkman. A lot.>>
Seems odd that they let Geof Johns go to all the trouble of bringing
Hawkman back, just to shunt him off to limbo again.
But hey, Walt and Chaykin on HAWKGIRL? I'm there!

I agree, Glenn. I'm hoping he's gonna be in 52 some, and
maybe back in his own series by next year.
I'm kinda in on Hawkgirl, but I gotta admit I wish the writer/artist
roles were reversed. There's something feminine missing from
Chaykin's style that I'd like to see in the book. That said, I'm
open to having my mind changed.
Edited to add: actually, from what I've seen, it's the colors.
Chaykin's art is, of course, fine... but the colors don't match the
style.

Oh, I do. And he knows that at least 3 of the pins in
my Frank Miller doll are because of that!

A couple of years ago, I drew a Batman & Iron Man Team-Up shot, and used my Justice League 10" Batman figure on the shelf as a general costume reference, therefore I drew the pouches. When I finally got around to inking it, I changed it to the vials because it just looks better that way.
