Spider-Man, Spider-Man,
 Whatever happened to Spider-Man?
Used to climb on a thread,
Bop the badguys in the head,
Hey there! He was the Spider-Man.

 There were things he did
 That a spider would do,
 Climb a wall real fast,
 Dodge a blow,
 Spew some goo.

 Didn't fly, Couldn't fly,
That belongs to that Super guy,
Legs don't pop out of his back
Didn't hatch out of a sack,
Hey there, he was the Spider-Man.

"I guess he's the "Web-Glider" now instead of the "Web-Slinger"?"
Some guys got into a classic fanboy debate about this over on Newsarama, but would any normal person really think he's gliding in those images?  He's really flying.
At least Spider-Woman's wings were big enough to make the gliding thing halfway credible.

But they've already done this. Captain Universe. IIRC, didn't Pete say he didn't much care for flying? Of course, he always said he wasn't a team guy, either, so...

To steal some lines from my favorite tv show.
"Spider-man you can't fly!"
"I can't?"
"NO!"
"oh."

But they've already done this. Captain Universe. ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------
And like JB said, THE OTHER was a rip of Roger Stern's Tarantula story...and there was a Molten Man rip off...what next?
I REALLY think Ron Garney draws great anatomy and dynamic page designs.  The page above looks great.  (No complaints about it.)  Most of the time though, I think he needs a really good inker.  He has the same "quick sketch" look that JRJR has.

A lesson in how to take one of the world's best known, most popular
characters and turn it into something that nobody will ultimately care
about.

But, JB, this new Spidey only has 3 arms/ legs coming out his back. Not 4. So see, not the same thing.

I still think he needs the burning skull head, huge shoulderpads, boobs, a ninja sword and an energy bazooka. Robot arms and rocket boots are nice but nice doesn't sell comics.
