Eric Lund: On his website he has pics were he inked Tuska and for me that is the Best of Both Worlds

He also inked over Tuska on an actual issue of IRON MAN prior to his regular gig on the book.  Issue #91 if memory serves.

Looking at the covers reproduced in this thread, I am cast back to that day in Art College when my drawing instructor showed me how to do circles in perspective. It was like a Revealed Truth, almost a religious experience, as if I had been admitted to the inner circle of some magical society. And it has served me well, on the occasions when I have drawn Iron Man. It never ceases to amaze me how many artists -- even really good ones! -- cannot get his chest light right! None of the artists in this thread, for instance!

To Ian and JB: What programme did you use to create those images? They look awesome by the way.

I used Strata 3DPro as I recall.

See other such experiments here:

I remember when you posted that shot back on the old AOL board.  Great looking original Iron Man.

Stupid question - is the gold part of the Iron Man armor supposed to be metal?

Yes, molecularly-aligned crystallized iron over a base of titanium nitride.

Or so I recall.

As a youth, I had memorized every line of the armor specs in the OHOTMU entry, just because it sounded cool!

I used Poser and Paint Shop Pro. JB, I do like the original armour too, but gold rather than grey. I hadn't noticed a lot of your 3D stuff: Captain's Cabin is very nice.

IMP.

JB, what are they doing wrong? I'm sincerely curious.
