Hulk any taller than 7'0 is way too much. He might was well be named "Jolly Green Giant"

John Byrne:  Issue 5 of the original series. In trenchcoat and hat, the Hulk sits in a regular commercial airliner seat.

If I'm not mistaken(and I may be), a later scene in that issue features Hulk in a full-body polar bear/yeti costume, with Rick Jones at his side in similar attire.  What a bizarre visual that was!

I remember when I was a kid, I had all these 8" megos but my "Hulk" was the 12" one.  I always thought that gave it the right kind of scale.

I never liked that OHOTMUDE Hulk by JB. It almost looks like it's off a model
sheet for an animated series. It lacks the detail of his Hulk on the cover of
Marvel Fanfare #29, for example. Or even that on the cover of that OHOTMU
issue!

I notice the same "model sheet" situation with many of the Alpha Flight
entries by JB: Northstar, Guardian, Sasquatch. Sasquatch, for example,
looks nothing like he did either in Uncanny, Alpha Flight or even the AF
advertisements. Is there a reason behind this?

The Thing is shorter than Reed Richards!  However, I have no idea how tall the rocky, orange guy passing for Ben Grimm these days is...

For comparisons from the Silver-Age:

Not the Thing's scale above and then look at how Hulk compares below.

The Lee Weeks issues of The Incredible Hulk had the Hulk back at 7'-8'. Deodato's a talented artist but he goes way overboard on the Hulk's size (influenced by the movie, maybe?). If he gets that big, he really shouldn't have any pants left...

Matt Reed: I've always just accepted that Banner turns into Hulk and Hulk turns back into Banner without thought to where he gets or looses his muscle mass.

Agreed. Besides, if people start wondering about the Hulk, then they're also going to have to wonder about guys like Mr. Hyde, who goes through a similar transformation.  Why bother?  I'm here to read comics, not explain away every little quirky detail.
