'd suggest the best way to "fix" most of what's wrong with Marvel and DC would be to simply invert Hopkins' logic, and stop
talking about the stuff that doesn't work any more (if it ever did). I
took this approach to scripting FANTASTIC FOUR, and in five years on
the job, never once made reference to Reed and Ben having fought in
WW2. Didn't say they hadn't, simply didn't say they did.
Once
upon a time, this was standard practice in superhero comics. I'd invite
anyone with the access to scour DCs archives to find any reference to
Krypton as a planet populated by "a race of supermen" -- all with the
same powers Kal-El had -- once he reached the point that he was
casually flying between star systems. When Stan and Jack brought back
Captain America, in AVENGERS 4, they made no effort at all to explain
the existance of a Captain America after the time they claimed he
"disappeared". Wonder Woman's prop driven glass airplane became a jet
without a scene showing the conversion. Etc. Etc. From major to minor,
bits and pieces that no longer worked were simply ignored.
We all know why and how such references became the sine qua non of "modern" comics -- but knowing the disease is the first step toward curing it, right?

I'm surprised more writers don't just ignore the bad storylines of the
past. I see nothing wrong with, although I guess every bad story has
it's fans (cough cough Clone Saga) who love each reference to it.
However these fans are usually the minority amongst buyers (and they
have limited taste), so I don't see why the company shouldn't be afraid
of offending them if they can get enough new readers.

Next thing you're gonna tell me is that Chuck Austen is a bad writer.

That FF panel is not what I want my child reading about and wondering about until he finds the right person to ask. Not that I have a child, I'm just saying... Save the world, the universe, whatever. Get out of the gutter.

Apparently the problem is cumulative.

If I remember well, there was some kinda same panel in your FF run
during the Negative Zone saga, where Ben & Johnny interrupted our
happy couple doing what your imagination were allowing to think - True
there was no dialogue. (again : I hope I remember fine. I'm sure plenty of
people will contradict me if I'm wrong, but please, dont be agressive :) )
The only difference is that your Sue was, how can I put it, Infinitly More
Seductive than this one, and all the others Sue after you.
I love your Sue.
Bring back your Sue.

Didn't JB's Sue have a mullet at one point?
Mullets are not something that should ever be brought back.

It's cannibalism. He ate the eyeball of an icon. Can we not make some distinction here from what went before?
Here's a discussion challenge to those who do not have a problem with Squitch the ingested eyeball. Is there any act of violence which would make you criticize the writer as going over a line? In other words, when it comes to violence, do you have a line for Spider-Man? ****
For some reason, I just remembered that Aquaman had his hand bitten off by Piranhas after a villain forced it into Piranha infested waters.
Peter David was the writer then. He is connected to this OTHER storyline too. Butis not the architect.

I liked Supreme Power the first time, when it was called Miracleman.
I exaggerate, but that's how it felt when I was reading the first collection.

Important also to keep in mind, re: Aquaman, Peter David has gone on
record many a time that his intent was to put the character back the
way he found him upon leaving the book. Unfortunately, he was
removed from the book before he could do so, or even finish the
then-current storyline on the book.

They can't even get the FF correct, do you really expect them to start doing the villains right?
