Because Hidden Years was part of a larger continuity in which Hank was way older than 20? Because during John's run in Uncanny Jean was 24 and Scott and Hank were evn older?

Not a really good question, Luca....

This discussion sparked a rather large discussion over at the geoff johns board and a question was asked that I and others over there would kinda like addressed.

Does this mean that Byrne is against legacy heroes? against select legacy heroes? and if the latter which ones.

Here is the thread if anyone is interested:

What I don't understand then is why JB had Hank celebrate his 20th birthday at the end of XHY - an event that 'grows' the character beyond what he was 'one of the strangest teens of all' and seems to contradict exactlt what JB has said in his initial post...?

****

I was playing in a shared universe, and so had to work within the rules of that universe, even if I didn't like 'em.

Alex, why not ask JB himself in a thread addressed to him?

You use a term with which I am unfamiliar.

Legacy Heroes- Heroes who replace or take up a similar role using the name of a previous hero.

Connor Hawke taking up the name or legacy of Green Arrow is a legacy hero.

Tim Drake taking up the legacy name of Robin after Dick Grayson and Jason Todd is a legacy hero.

Wally West going from kid flash to flash is a legacy hero

Other examples Jack Knight, Star Girl, Jakeem Thunder, Spider-girl

James,

For next time I will post a seperate question thread but I saw Mr, Byrne was responding here so I thought I should post here. I dont post here often so I am sorry if I broke some informal rule.

Not a rule, Alex, merely a suggestion to make sure he saw it. As he did, the point is moot.

A poster on the GJ board arguing against aging put it in a really neat way: "It's not an ongoing story, its a series of stories starring the same characters."

Then, yes, I am against the concept.

Thank you for answering mine and others question, I completely disagree given I am a huge Connor Hawke fan but I do apprecate the quick and clear response.
