The Mike Allred Solo issue is a classic. The Teen Titans/Doom Patrol story alone is worth the price.

Doom Patrol (I'm bummed that next month is it)

Thunderbolts

JSA Classified (yawn)

BPRD (I'm really getting into the Hellboy universe)

JLA (I'm enjoying the Harras run--it's nice to see something not totally overhyped)

Thanks, Matt. That's where I found the number. I wasn't sure if their site had the numbers or not. My comics guy has backordered issues 1-3. Now, I just have to remember to order it from the Nov catalog.

Captain America - I love the premise, but I hope we can hit the reset button when its done.

Doom Patrol - really came to love this title, I'll miss it.

JLA - Harras is doing a pretty good job, but the JLAers are way too concerned about Batman, and Ollie is doing double duty as a jerk.

JSA: Classified - anti-climatic. Guess we have to go to CRISIS for an explanation of the power fluxuations.

Adventures of Superman - did a good job of touching on a whole bunch of threads.

Haven't read yet.

Teen Titans

LSH

JLA Classified

Flash

More to add as my monthly shipment from DCBS came in today.

  • ABSOLUTE WATCHMEN: I've only read this story over a hundred times, why not one more.

  • SPIDER-GIRL #91
  • SHAZAM SUPERMAN FIRST THUNDER #2
  • RANN THANAGAR WAR #6
  • ALBION #3: This is proof that the apple can fall far from the tree.

Hmmmm - this was a bigger week than I thought....

  • Adventures of Superman #645
  • Catwoman #48 - Love the Adam Hughes covers - I never realized that Selina looks like Demi Moore
  • Doom Patrol #17
  • The Flash #227
  • JLA #121
  • JLA Classified #13
  • JSA Classified #4 - I haven't quite understood the tone of this story. Considering the "importance" of the Power Girl origin to the Crisis series, I'm confused as to why they decided to play it for laughs. I don't have anything against "funny" stories in dramatic series - this just seemed like an odd place for it.
  • Legion of Super Heroes #11
  • Teen Titans #28
  • Wonder Woman #222
  • Captain Atom: Armageddon #1
  • Amazing Spider-Man #525
  • Captain America #11
  • Daredevil #78
  • Monsters on the Prowl #1
  • New Avengers #12
  • Sentry #2

Also picked up a few back issues

  • Adventures of Jerry Lewis #51 & 54
  • Rawhide Kid #51

BPRD
Captain America
Catwoman: glad i waited until pfieffer came on board, before deciding whether to drop this title from my pull list or not.
Defenders
Doom Patrol
JLA: tiring quickly of how almost every writer including his own writes green arrow as this ultimate two-timing holier than thou jerk. used to be his politics and views had a point, his point of view is what set him a bit apart from the others, now he just seems to be used as a major irritant for whatever plot is going on. strangely enough, i think brian melzer had a better handle on the character as did messner-loebs in his fill-in issue of green arrow. course, here harras' characterization is really just following up on what happened with the character in "justice league elite" but still, it's characterization like this that makes me not to want to read the character at all and wished he stayed dead.
JLA Classified: bugs me that what we're getting in this title are stories that should be in the main title other than giffen's "formerly known as" follow up if not for the events of "identity crisis." there's nothing really special about them that cries out for separate treatment.
JSA Classified: at least this does start off with a story that deserves to be in the spin off. however, yet again we have johns ending a storyline with a cliffhanger that won't be addressed here but in "identity crisis." thought the whole concept of the "classified" books was to tell tales that are apart from the current events of the main books, that the stories would be pretty much self contained. sorta like the all-star line only in continuity. silly me.
Monsters On The Prowl: my favorite of the monsters themed books. nice light-hearted fun and banter. hulk is funnier here than in the defenders, playing well off of everyman thing. good to see hank pym as giant man without the angst. would have liked at least one of these books to play the giant monsters a bit more straight. after all halloween is about scary.
Thunderbolts

whoops. forgot to mention also got a few pulp reprints that came in. this month's high adventure retells a story of one of the few pulp characters that is probably better known for his golden-age comic stories: the green lama. the pulp lama is a lot less super-powered and a bit more like the shadow only minus the guns and creepy laugh. fun stuff.

Can I ask the regular readers of Captain America a question?  C.A. is not a book I pick up at all but I was in my LCS today getting DP and saw the cover of the latest issue (I guess it would be #11 from the above posts), and had a quick flip through.  What the £%^&* is going on? Is this a story which has been built up for a while with a transparent ending, or has someone not told Uncle Joe this is the one story you can't do?  Frankly nothing surprises me in comics these days, but I would've thought they'd have some respect.  Ah well.
