I think Morena Baccarin would be the best choice. Certainly better than Dushku or Carpenter.

Does anyone else think this movie is going to bomb? Batman Begins was a bit of a box office disappointment, and Serenity did very badly its opening weekend, which leads me to believe that the chances of a Wonder Woman movie doing well are not so good.

Thanks, Ethan.  I figured that I couldn't be the only one who'd like to see Mrs. Michael Douglas as Wonder Woman.

Catherine is wee bit too old (36) for Wonder Woman, imo. Five or better yet ten years ago she could have pulled it off, though. Looks right and can definetely act. The age factor applies for Charisma Carpenter, as well, who also doesn't seem right for Diana.

Whoever is cast, set your hopes low until a decision
is made. Remember, not all that long ago Pamela
Anderson was the leading contender before "Barb
Wire" tanked.

Wasn't Queen Latifah once considered?  I like her but... shudder and shiver

I'm not understanding this "Wonder Woman has to have a huge porch" thing. She really didn't get one until the 70s; Harry G. Peter's version was almost flat chested. And it really is the waist that makes the costume work.

Now, Power Girl on the other hand...

Wait a minute! Barb Wire was something like 9 years ago. That's too long ago in my book!

And, no, Wonder Woman really doesn't need "huge porch"....

I think Monica Belluci would be a nice choice to play Wonder Woman

A choice that i think that might not seem a natural fit but i  thinkClaudia Black would be interesting in the part

Re Wonder Woman casting: For those who know who I'm asking about, what do you think of Tanya Memme, the host of A&E's "Sell This House"? I think she has the stature, the hair, the face, and (very important) the voice. Earlier in this thread I predicted Charlize Theron (stature and face) but Tanya would bew my first choice. The first time I saw her show I immediately thought, "She would be perfect for Wonder Woman". I'm interested in your opinions, because I'm so enamoured of her that I don't entirely trust mine. Thanks.

If she didn't have such obviously FAKE boobs, I think that B-movie Queen Julie Strain would make a fine Wonder Woman (she's six foot one and worth the climb!).

Then, Kevin Eastman could claim to be married to Wonder Woman!

Julie Strain looks too slutty to be Wonder Woman on the screen.  But in private......

Ahem.

Anyway, Monica Bellucci would have been perfect 10 years ago.  She might still work if they use a computer to soften her features and make her look younger.

Tanya Memme, eh.  Ditto for Anne Hathaway.

And even though I mentioned Lucy Lawless a few posts back, taking another hard look at her....  Um, no way.  She's aged 10 years in 2.

I'm surprised no one else has brought up Catherine Bell....
