JB, you're just a cruel, cruel man.....  I had that image of Cathy Lee Crosby out of my mind and you just seared it back into it.  Thanks.  Thanks a lot.

Ok, on a more serious note:  Though she's terribly typecast now, Lucy Lawless would have been perfect.

Whedon's been waffling on the suit lately -- what he's said lately is, "She'll
look like she does the way they're currently portraying her in the comics."

He's also recently said he's looking to cast an unknown actress who's
statuesque, though he's not entirely ruling Charisma Carpenter out.

I liked Cooke's portrayal of Wonder Woman.

Don't know if she can act (I'm guessing ... not), but this is who I think makes the best looking candidate for Wonder Woman. She's got the beauty, the buffness and the boobs: Deirdre Pagnanelli.

Yeah, but, whatever you do, don't use The New Frontier for your comparison.  I read somewhere that Darwin Cooke (sp?) deliberately made the Amazon taller than Superman to make her more physically imposing.  And' that just ain't right...

**************

Yikes! Taller than Superman would make her -- what? -- 6'5?

Barda's taller than Superman. I could stand Diana being taller than Superman.

Barda is a whole 'nother case -- and she's the one I would love to see Lucy Lawless play! Diana, while always tall, has never been extremely tall. With the hair and the heels (pre-George} she probably topped 6 feet by several inches, but flat footed I'd guess she'd be about 5'10".

Hey, don't anybody get me wrong, I loved that whole friggin' story, and (with that one objection) I thought Cooke's interpretation of Diana was spot on, but, still, Wonder Woman several inches taller than Superman?!?  Taller and more regal than the average schlub in the street, yes, but seriously, this is the Man of Steel  (the first of them all, without whom, let's face it, there would be no WW)- he should be physically imposing and dominate every panel he's in.  He shouldn't be diminished to artificially elevate someone else's- anyone else's - stature, and that was the one flaw in Cooke's whole miniseries that just nagged at my subconscious.

I'm sorry, but that still just ain't right...

This actress has to look something like Lynda Carter.  Lucy Lawless comes to mind but she's too old now.
