Saw this on the SCIFI.COM newswire. What does everyone think?
Eliza Dushku, who played the vampire slayer Faith in the TV series Buffy
the Vampire Slayer, told attendees at the Wizard World convention in
Boston on Oct. 1 that she would love to be considered for the main role in
Buffy creator Joss Whedon's next film, Wonder Woman. "I would follow
that man anywhere," she said in a panel session. "He's a genius. He writes
women and he gets women. It's not that I'm done with TV, but I hear Joss
is doing a little movie called Wonder Woman [laughs]. I'd slap on the
dukes for that."
Dushku last appeared on television in the series Tru Calling, which lasted
for a season and a half on Fox. Her next film will be the drama Nobel Son,
in which she plays an insane-asylum escapee alongside Alan Rickman, Bill
Pullman, Danny Devito and Peter Boyle.

Thou I love Dushku I'm not certain she would be right for the part.

Too short.
And I say this as a big, big fan of Ms. Dushku.

Or if you shot it in the style of Lord of the Rings. She could be Gandalf and
all the other actors could be hobbits. Forced perspective Wonder Woman!

Too short and unable to literally fill the role.....
It's looking more and more like an unknown will hired.

I agree she is too short and way to small upfront to play her. They may have to cast an unknown that is right for the part.

The ideal actress for Wonder Woman is about 5'9 or 5'10 and should look as if she's eaten within the past week or so. I know that in the late '80s, early '90s, there was an attempt to depict Diana as more "exotic," befitting her Amazonian roots, I suppose, but in a way, it just doesn't work. I think there should be almost a Middle-American, farm-girl aspect to her -- put her in jeans and you can imagine her baling hay and other such chores.
And of course Linda Carter was perfect.
BTW: Did anyone catch her on the two Law & Orders last week? Wow! She's in her fifties and she's still got it!

One of the hottest babes I know personally
celebrated her 59th birthday last week. You "young"
guys are in for a surprise -- and a treat! -- as you get
older!

I didn't think she looked so great in Dukes of Hazzard. Maybe i was distracted by Jessica Simpson.

Dushku, eh?
Gorgeous girl, but...does anyone hear Wonder Woman having a smoker's voice?
If we're going with known actresses, I like Kate from LOST better. Folks've told me she's too short, which I tend not to notice on camera, but she's got solid acting chops, nice looks, and a certain seriousness of character I think would suite the actess behind Wonder Woman.
Too freckly though?

Beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL woman...and all wrong for Wonder Woman. Like Dushku, way too short. She also doesn't come off as "warrior" to me.
