From the first series:

#4 - What if the Invaders had stayed together after WWII?
#34 - What if? -- All-humor issue

From the second series:

#5 - What if Wonder Man had lived?
#56 - Second part of What if the Avengers had lost Galactic Storm?

Worst, overused plot device:

Tie between "indiscriminate killing of characters because we can" and "Captain America comes back and the U.S. is now fascist"

Best JB line on a cover:

v.1 #36 - "If only these ropes weren't keeping me out of action!"

What If? #3!  My copy fell apart from all the readings.  Written by Jim Shooter, pencilled by Gil Kane and inked by Klaus Janson.  Don't forget the coloring was great on the book too!  However, I don't remember the colorist, I thinking, maybe Glynis Wein?  What If ? #3 would've never worked on today's glossy paper.

My favorite was "What if Gwen Stacy slept with the Green Goblin?"  I also really enjoyed "What if the Scarlet Witch went crazy and destroyed the Avengers?"  Can't remember the issue numbers for those...

My favorite was What If #34.  Had some crazy stuff in it.  Like this...

Marvel recently released some one off What If books, most were junk, but I really enjoyed What If Dr. Doom had become the Thing. Fun little story

There is a colour TPB of the first few issues with a second volume to follow sometime next year.
