I'm coming to this very late but...
1. I'm so sorry about the accident and the resulting cost to repair the Jag. That's truly awful.
2. Glad that the PT Cruiser is up and running again!
3. Hope everything goes smoothly getting the Jag back on the road.

I was in a minor car accident last week. As I driving
past an auto body repair shop, when the car in front
stopped and started backing up. He didn't see my car and
crashed into me. The guy worked for the repair shop, so
they fixed it. It reminded me of the joke about the good
and bad news about being hit by an ambulance.

Incidentally, the problem with the Cruiser turned out to be the battery, even though the AAA guy swore up and down that was not the case.

*******

That's pretty much what happened to me!  I had my battery checked out at Auto Zone--twice, and it tested as being good both times.  However, I kept having instances where my car wouldn't start and had to be jumped off with a charger.  Based on online information, I was expecting a parasitic drain somewhere.  I brought it to the dealership to be examined, and it was the battery.  Replacing the battery was an overall less expensive problem to have, though if it had been a failing system or something similar, it would have been covered under my service contract.
