I don't think anything Elon Musk does is strategy.  He likes Trump because he shares many of his regressive social views, and also for the same reason obscenely rich people have liked Republicans for decades:  because it will result in substantially lower taxes for him.  Nothing more complex than that.

Musk is beyond strategy.  His ego is such that he believes his gut instincts are infallible, and he simply follows them without any strategic considerations.  We've seen how that has worked for twitter (which has lost 72% of its value since he took over) and Tesla (down 27% this year).  But he is wealthy enough to absorb those losses, and narcissistic enough to ignore them or shift blame for them onto others.

Corrupt government is good for monopolistic robber-barons.

Plus “A.I.” regulation will be formed during this next administration and
Trump’s policy is likely to be vastly more friendly to the tech billionaires
than Harris’.

Musk is such a sociopathic shell of a man, it is no surprise to see him
dancing for Trump’s campaign. He is loyal to whomever he can use.

Speaking of Kamala Harris... ;)

Harris has and will interview with:

-60 Minutes
-The View
-Howard Stern
-Rickey Smiley
-Call Her Daddy
-Matt Barnes & Stephen Jackson (All The Smoke)
-Oprah
-Stephen Colbert
-Dana Bash/CNN
-Stephanie Ruhle/MSNBC
-Univision

But I’m told she isn’t doing media.

Here’s the thing.
Twatter is now just so full of contradictory posts, I have no clue, @ all, what
the truth is regarding this election, nor the hurricane/FEMA situation.

Crowd sizes? Both sides claim they are getting loads while the others are
getting none - all with photos
FEMA? Right say nothing happening, people being prevented from giving
aid - lots of video testament to back this up
Left say FEMA etc doing loads, with video footage to back up.

Trump is surrounded by people peddling his position, including Musk, who
is on blast Tweet, even retweeting his own tweets & saying that he agrees
with them (which just looks really, really weird)

I’m minded to disbelieve everything Trump’s team states, but really, the
level of contradiction really has reached ‘the sky is blue’, ‘no, it’s yellow’

What are you baffled about? You face a riddle: two people contradict each
other— one is a compulsive liar. So which is lying?

Republican governors and Senators are calling on Trump and others to stop
the lies as they proclaim that Federal response has been unprecedented
and all they could want.

Only Trump and his lackies are trying to spread the lies that FEMA is doing
evil.

Consider the source: a lying liar who lies with every breath and wants to be
elected so he can avoid jail.

What could ever mislead you to believe he has suddenly become a source
of truth? Especially when leaders from his own party are trying to stop his
lies so that actual help can be delivered?

The honest truth Mark, is that I think Trump & Musk et al are lying every
second of every day.
But it is now relentless - with many, many people being roped in with their
own posts.
The scale & reach of the lying, & the push from Musk’s algorithm is beyond
anything I have ever seen before.

I’m seeing the same over here. We have just given some islands back, the
Conservatives are going ape shit. Despite the fact that 80% of the meetings
& negotiations were actually done by the people who are now going ape
shit.

It doesn’t matter if lies are pointed out, they have all taken the playbook
from Putin et al & now just repeat the lie, complain they are being fact
checked (when on earth did this become a bad thing?), & go on talking
about the lie.

The conversations I have with people now just consist of me contradicting
what they say & them insisting that what they say is correct.
We used to be able to debate. But the insistence on lying, & refusal to see
things that are clearly true, has become an epidemic that just cannot be
resolved.

I can’t see this ever going away.

This is better than no interviews, but I wish she'd sit with some other hard news outlets than "Call Me Daddy" and "Howard Stern," e.g.: just one interview with the New York Times and one with the Wall Street Journal -- each would be impressive, as both would definitely challenge her to step up to the top of her game.

(Trump has been interviewed by the New York Times several times over the years. That Harris has shied away from that alone is disappointing, to say the least.)

*******
60 Minutes isn't a "hard news outlet"?

I actually think the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal are compromised... that could be why Trump doesn't hesitate to be interviewed by them. I'm fine with Harris looking at other news outlets... as long as it gets out to the public.

For all its (many many many) flaws, the New York Times remains to me the most trustworthy and unbiased source for news and analysis. My conservative and liberal friends dislike and distrust it in equal measure, which means that it's probably doing the best at representing the broadest, unskewed swath of reality.

How can any news source have "many many many flaws" and STILL be trustworthy??

That's enough for me to (at least) welcome other informative outlets.

The fact that Harris had only 108 days to run her campaign while the White Brains Grifter had well over 500+ plus and this race is (probably) tight is a testament to Harris' staff and that folks are tired of Trump's bullshit.

Hopefully in the next 29 days, Kamala will be elected as the 47th C-i-C.

Another reason why the White Brains Grifter declined the 60 MINUTES interview:

He's a fucking coward.
