Maybe RFKjr wants everyone to start calling him “Teddy”.

He wants to send people on antidepressants to work camps and takes selfies with roadkill. How is he even allowed in polite society?

Not to mention he sits down with Rosanne Barr to unburden himself.

Yes there is: you.  I would imagine you agree 100% with yourself, so write your own name down on the ballot.  If you're going to vote for someone who has no chance of winning, why not select the one person you completely agree with about everything?  Why settle for half-measures?

Because yes, Kennedy cannot win.  That's not propaganda, that's realism.  He's polling at 5%.  And historically, no third-party candidate has ever come close to winning a Presidential election.  Even the best-qualified one (TR) only managed to act as a spoiler, losing by a decisive margin.  The US system of electing Presidents is not set up to accommodate multiple parties.  It's set up as a two-party system.

So your choice is to vote for someone who has a chance of winning and contribute to making a difference, or vote for someone who has no chance, the functional equivalent of not voting at all.

Kennedy himself does have some admirable positions on some issues.  But he also espouses dangerous crackpot pseudo-science about vaccination, in the process facilitating the spread of disease and ignorance.  I don't know if he's actually crazy (as in truly believing that stuff) or simply a cynical opportunist.  But that issue alone speaks to his unfitness for office, in my opinion.

I give Kennedy credit for being entertaining. I laughed as much following the dead bear story over the past two days as I did at Deadpool vs Wolverine.

The other bright spot to Kennedy's candidacy has been the exposure and ridicule of his more discreditable beliefs. Hopefully his destiny is to remain the Pure Comedy Candidate I initially mistook Trump for in 2015, and not to throw the election to Trump.

As an outsider, I really see little difference between Trump and RFK Jr. Trump is so over the top ridiculous and bordering on batshit crazy that I just don't get how he can possibly be the number one candidate according to polls. I wouldn't ride a car with him driving, let alone handing him the fate of the planet...

How a wonderful nation of 400+ million people ended up with Trump and Biden (and eventually Harris) as the alternatives for Presidency is simply beyond me...

If the country had 400 million voters, we wouldn't be in this mess.

The US doesn't even have 400 million people, it "only" has about 333 million and only about 160 million registered voters.

My bad, I must have caught a glimpse of some future projections an got confused.
The point remains though. And, Brian and Kevin, I am not talking about who the voters vote, but the fact your system needs 2 candidates out of 333 M people and ends up with a couple of geriatrics potential residents with dementia.

That is not, in fact, where we “end up”.

The ascendency of Authoritarian populists has a lot to do with unfinished-
business in a country’s history and a lot of people unwilling to recognize the
darker side of what they think they want.

In the US, it’s mostly about racism.

Why was the 2020 race between two very old men? One was the face of
autocracy, and one was the comforting antidote.

4 years later… they remained the leaders of the 2 parties, but they are both
4 years older.

It’s not that mysterious.
