I was at my comics shop in Manchester yesterday and the (usually quite)
knowledgeable guy in his mid-20’s had NO IDEA ELSEWHEN existed. I told
him it was through Abram’s, and he still was blank. Imagine the extra
printings are for that market upcoming this gift giving season?

There are plans to cover Xmas. (Yes, I did that deliberately.) Meanwhile, the “graphite edition” has cleared a couple of hurdles.

I’ve been getting somewhat annoyed at “reviews” of ELSEWHEN that claim it has “thin” character development. I’ve found myself wondering if this comes from people who are reading the first volume in isolation, unaware of the work as a whole. But just now, something occurred to me. Many of the self-appointed “reviewers” say how much they enjoy the fact that characters don’t launch off into pages of contemplation and rumination—but this might well be why they find “characterization” missing. They’ve had a couple of generations of characters effectively standing to one side while they pour out whatever is going on in their heads. Claremont was doing this even back in my day. Action breaks for exposition. And writers who have come after CC have followed his model. But I have been mostly influenced by the likes of Stan Lee, Denny O’Neil and Archie Goodwin. I fold the exposition into the action. So Scott and Jean, for instance, interact over multiple issues. They don’t stop to talk about their lives. And that might well be lost on those who look for underlining.

I really appreciate how well this used to be done in Spider-Man comics. (And yes, I realize there was the advantage of thought balloons back then.)

JB, any idea what the size will be on the "Graphite Edition"?
I personally would love for it to be the size of the Artists Editions.

The graphite edition will have the same proportions as the standard release.

That is pretty cool! Nice bonus surprise for the reader who will pick that up! I chuckle at an alternate possibility where a fan goes in to pick one up and catches you signing it. checked my B&N a few times- they initially had a couple but now are long gone.
