One of my all-time favorite single issues is the Dominic Fortune story in MARVEL PREMIERE #56, with plot and layouts by Howard Chaykin and finished art by Terry Austin.  (I feel like these two great pros must have teamed somewhere else too, but I have no idea where!)  This is one finely detailed comic I would love to get an oversized Artist's Edition of!  Here are some random pages--

Eric, those are some seriously good looking pages from the Chaykin/Austin team. 

Your feelings serve you well: the two HAVE collaborated elsewhere, particularly on The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones. They've done the occasional covers there and illustrated an entire issue (#6). I'd love to see a full-sized Artists Edition repro of these, myself.

Chaykin and Austin also did a story in Savage Sword of Conan 78.  I would not have guessed those would work so well together.

Theoretically, Chaykin and Austin seem like a more natural fit than JB and Austin were.  The former pair well with a very angular sense of line and design.  Though it’s funny how artistic chemistry works, since JB/Austin are one of THE great pencil/ink pairings - perfect timing for both in their stylistic evolution to line up when they did.

I know that Terry Austin and Frank Miller did quite a few covers together, but I am pretty fond of their single issue in Daredevil (DD #191).  I know they also did a DD story for What If too (#35?) 

Reflecting on that it's kind of weird that only 10 issues earlier Elektra was killed by Bullseye soon to be followed by issues 183/184 and the Punisher Angel Dust Storyline.

Like I said earlier, the original MS. MARVEL series was full of one-shot (or at least rare) pairings.  Here's a sampling of splash pages (with the art teams spelled out in the credits boxes)--

MS. MARVEL #4
Mooney never looked better than these few issues inked by Sinnott!

MS. MARVEL #9
I'd almost forgotten that Pollard worked on FANTASTIC FOUR for a while, doing layouts for Sinnot's finished art.  But throw Grainger into the mix--!

MS. MARVEL #12
Sal Buscema and Joe Sinnott practically were the faces of Marvel!  Surprised they didn't team more often.

MS. MARVEL #20
Cockrum and Wiacek really looked good together.  I was bummed it was only for this one issue.

Two artists I associate with DC, but together (here at least) they look decidedly Marvel!

Boy, I don't know anyone who didn't look better than when inked by Bob McLeod!

MS. MARVEL #21, Dave Cockrum inked by Al Milgrom
I like Milgrom, but this inky outing was a letdown after the previous issue inked by Bob Wiacek and the cover inked by Joe Rubinstein.  Why couldn't this series keep anybody for long?

MS. MARVEL #22, Mike Vosburg inked by Mike Zeck
When else did Mike Zeck ever INK anyone?!

Two giants in the field--and I have no idea where else they might have teamed!

MS. MARVEL #2 by John Buscema & Dick Giordano
Buscema & Giordano make a really good team!  (I believe they reteamed on CONAN at some point.)

MS. MARVEL #3 by Al Milgrom & Joe Sinnott
Milgrom & Sinnott made a good team years later on WEST COAST AVENGERS.

MS. MARVEL #4 by Ed Hannigan & John Romita
Ed Hannigan always did really good covers!

MS. MARVEL #5 by Ed Hannigan & Joe Sinnott
There are probably at least a few more covers by these two.

Again, two well-established pros I don't remember seeing teamed elsewhere.

One of a fair handful of great Cockrum/Austin outings.

MS. MARVEL #17 by Jim Starlin & Joe Rubinstein...and John Romita & Alan Weiss!
I love Starlin & Rubinstein!  And then throw in Romita and Weiss too!

MS. MARVEL #19 by John Romita Jr. & Joe Rubinstein
Were these two ever teamed again?  Because they work really well together!
