I think Austin is redundant when inking Layton.
On the other hand, I LOVED Terry inking Dan Green on a few Doctor Strange issues!

I remembered some HULK possibilities and I looked it up to find a number of covers in a row with unique pairings.  As with other entries in this thread, I wonder if the editor did this out of necessity ("Who's in the office today--I need this fast!") or if it was an effort to see who worked best for possible future assignments.

INCREDIBLE HULK #227 by Herb Trimpe inked by Joe Rubinstein (Nice!)

INCREDIBLE HULK #228 by Herb Trimpe inked by Bob McLeod (Good!)

INCREDIBLE HULK #229 by Herb Trimpe inked by Bob Layton (Effective!)

Here's a special one--INCREDIBLE HULK #235 by Al Milgrom inked by Steve Ditko!  When has Ditko ever inked anybody--besides early Marvels with Kirby?!?  I was a little suspicious that the identification was in error, but, no, I definitely see Milgrom in the Hulk and definitely Ditko in Machine Man!  (Amazing!)

And here's an earlier interesting one.  Whatever her strengths, I don't normally consider Marie Severin a very exciting or dynamic artist, but here's one with a lot of energy--thanks in part to inker Giacoia?  INCREDIBLE HULK #208 by Marie Severin inked by Frank Giacoia (Exciting!)

The Herb Trimpe covers have sparked the memory of an unusual/unexpected pairing in the 80s, which was Barry Windsor-Smith finishing Herb Trimpe breakdowns for the first three issues of a futuristic (i.e. 2020) Machine Man mini series. It kind of just looked like BWS though.

Other than a couple of Ed Hannigan covers he inked, I’m not a fan of
Milgrom inks at all.

Keep posting those “inkers inking inkers” pairings, please. They are always a delight. I quite like the Austin-over-Layton one.

Here’s a really unusual one: Frank Miller over Jack Kirby. I like how I still manage to see both styles.

Jack had a very interesting way of depicting Spider-Man’s webbing pattern.

JB inked that Kirby Spider-man drawing, too. Love both of them.
