It would be nice to see him properly held to account. There's a mindset amongst some where they believe "laws are for Bad People, I'm not a Bad Person (I'm me, how could that be?) so laws don't apply to me." If the Republic is to survive, they must be instructed otherwise. Also, I added popcorn to the shopping list! The level of squealing from Fox News is very entertaining.

Trump continues his O Woe is Me bleating. The FBI "broke into" his safe? Seems like they would not have to do that, if they were dealing with an innocent man who was being fully cooperative.But, of course, Trump has convinced a huge number of people in this country that he IS the innocent party, and the FBI are the bad guys.

I think the search was timed for when he would be away from home, so that there would be no risk of his destroying documents. And there was clearly an urgent risk that he would destroy (or sell) whatever they wanted to see, making a search necessary. His followers will lose their minds, of course, but they would do that ANYWAY. Same with prosecuting Trump. Anything less than abject fealty is betrayal.

GOP impeached Bill Clinton for lying about oral sex in a private case. Today, the Clintons are considered by many to be corrupt and bad for this country.
Trump tried to bribe a foreign leader to aid him in the 2020 election, led an insurrection and has violated the Presidential Records Act... yet they find no fault with him.
His rabid followers would rather destroy democracy before admitting they were wrong. This country is FUCKED.

Trump preaches power to those who feel themselves increasingly powerless. His timing could not have been better. After eight years of their worst nightmare--a Black man in the Oval Office--he somehow managed to convince those feeling disenfranchised that he was "one of them". That he spoke for their needs.Sadly, for many Americans, he represents an ideal. Right down to the gold toilet.
