From one image 'scratching an itch' to 31(+) full issues... can't complain! Hope it was mostly as enjoyable to make as to read.

Rebecca, that's exactly my sentiment as well. So grateful we all got to see this—something JB could have done just for himself and never shared.

I think one accomplishment in this fan-fiction is that it is now easy to imagine these X-Men together again, working as a team and going forward through thick and thin for another hundred issues easy.

The amount of apparent change here is enormous. The amount of actual change is pretty insignificant comparatively.

There are lots of pleasures to be enjoyed in comic books. A long run on any series with writing and art by JB is one of the best.

What's been the central appeal, IMHO, is the "what if?"
JB's vision for the X-Men is vital, appealing, and true to the characters. While Chris Claremont had undeniable success with the title, JB's path would have been at least as successful, groundbreaking, and expansive.
What if Dark Phoenix had returned? And if surviving D'Bari had come to Earth seeking revenge?
What if Magneto had formed the X-Men?
What if new students came to the X-mansion and how would they integrate with the team?
Well, we got answers to those questions.
It's been one heck of a ride and I'm glad we got to see this "elsewhen" view courtesy of JB.

JB, I've "met" your work when I was 10 and you became my favorite artist at first sight. . You've fill 80% of my lifetime with true happiness.
Those last 4 years have been another gem with a daily dose of pure joy.
For all of this, my most sincere thank you.

"Oh, Doom an' me got an understandin' from years back!"

Love it!

P.S. I absolutely echo what Philippe says above. THANK YOU JB - not just for this unexpected recent joy - but for everything that has gone before. What stories we have witnessed thanks to your talent and imagination.

Today's page is a quick reminder that we hadn't really seen "reboot Wolverine" back in action too much since... his brain was rebooted! Great page! And Peter gets a crash course in "this is the guy you never met..."

••

I planned to establish that Doom and Logan (pre-Wolverine) had crossed paths, perhaps during the time Doom himself was wandering after his accident in college.

This would be played in "Marvel Time" of course, so I wouldn't be taking Doom back to WW2. A narrow window right before Logan got trampled.

The "hairless"/flesh colored sleeves.

It's that level of attention to detail that most modern artists simply don't seem to glean.

Although the first time I ever saw Wolverine was Frank Miller's cover to the mini series, it was JB's Wolverine in X-men that is forever cemented in my brain and I loved todays page! So happy to have had the chance to read Elsewhen. Thanks JB!

Nice action page! Wolverine is one of the few Marvel characters that seems like he genuinely enjoys an altercation (the Thing being another)
