JB, is it common throughout your career to have done pages long before they were published?•• My personal preference is a lead time of at least six months. Usually it comes closer to four. On ELSEWHEN I was about eight issues ahead when I started posting, but I have seen that lead chipped away by time and tide. Currently, I'm only about two issues ahead of what you're seeing. (I was five months ahead for most of my run on HIDDEN YEARS, but editorial incompetence still lead to two issues--including the FIRST!!--shipping late. This stripped me of the ability to say no book of mine had ever shipped late, without appending "because of anything that was my fault.")
