It's remarkable how quickly things decay when left abandoned. Feels as though it's more than just doing maintenance--it's as if some vital force is taken away and the house simply rots with no life inside it.

--
I'm a member of groups that post photos of abandoned highways, and even for roads that have been closed for just around 10 years, it's shocking to see how much vegetation had taken over. I don't know if road maintenance crews trim roadbeds on regular intervals (probably not), or just having the occasional car pass over them is enough to keep them from growing.

This is an unexpected touch of 'Mysteries Of The Abandoned', one of the few 'reality' type shows I enjoy. :^)

Personal life intruding here -- I look at those floors and think of the bills I just paid to sand and refinish our hardwood over here.
Great sense of reality in this decay. Can smell it. Can't wait to see what's what in this doppleganghause.

I was thinking you could smell it too. Then the thought of Ororo flying in with the ancillary swirls of wind through the mess added the taste variant. Yeuch!Nicely portrayed in that one image though!

As I imagine it, Ororo's "flight winds" are very tightly controlled, basically a cocoon around her that doesn't stir the air too much beyond a narrow radius.

ITEM: OH! I see where this is going and I cannot WAIT to see where it goes! Yeah, I know that's a paradox...
ITEM: I like Ororo's new outfit as well. I notice that she is barefoot... of course, she walked through a desert, so her feet are probably tough as battleship plate.
ITEM: I can't imagine how Bobby, Jean, Scott, and Warren (and even Charles) feel... this was their home for decades and now it is there but it isn't home. Your evocative skills with emotion are delicious. Wicked, but delicious!

I like Ororo's new outfit as well. I notice that she is barefoot... •• Which will not be permanent. Imagine the howls across the Web if I made the only Black member--especially a woman--walk around barefoot. ++ …this was their home for decades… ªª Decades for you. Years for them.
