If a museum made a JB art gallery exhibit, what pieces do you think should be included?
The splash page at the end of Man of Steel #1 springs immediately to mind. I also quite enjoyed JB's Cold War, the couple pages that started it without text were especially great.
JB, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

The first page(s) that popped into my head was/were the double page spread from 137.

I'm rather fond of Captain America standing over Iron Fist in Cap's crossover in IF. And the last page of Man of Steel #6 has to be in there. Same for last page of X-Men with the Magneto reveal.
Boy, that's a tough call; what his best work?

There's a two-page spread of an embattled Doomstadt in an issue of FF (whose number escapes me) that is simply phenomenal.
One of the last panels of LEGENDS showing the "new" Justice League is also good.
Nearly all of OMAC.

Great subject, Rich - I love museum exhibits, and the few comic book exhibits I have seen were really wonderful. Everything I have seen featured many artists, but I would like to see shows dedicated to one artist - Kirby, Ditko, Adams, Buscema, and of course JB all have enough material for their own shows.
I have long wondered what a full JB exhibit would look like. I think it has to feature historically significant pieces as well as an example of pieces that show JB's depth and breadth of work. I propose covers and iconic images, but I think a full exhibit would embrace the storytelling aspect of the medium and feature multi-page sequences that defined JB's career. Pages from the same issue would be exhibited/grouped closely together to allow multiple pages without taking too much wall space. I wouldn't feature any full issues.
I would call it "John Byrne: Storyteller" - my favorite credit used when JB started both writing and drawing FF
Here's what I would do:
CHOO-CHOO TRAIN - on blackboard.
DEATH'S-HEAD KNIGHT - cover and interior page
ROG 2000 - trade cover and "The Coming of the Gang" first four pages
EMERGENCY! - splash page, with Byrne Robotics credit
STAR LORD - splash page
1983 Bullpen Bulletins feature - later used as cover for JB Omnibus 1 - JB at art table surrounded by Marvel cast
MARVEL TEAM-UP #68 - Man Thing Cover (just to make sure Joe Hollon shows up to the exhibit!)
X-MEN - covers and pages from original run, X-MEN: HIDDEN YEARS and X-MEN: ELSEWHEN showing iconic moments like Dark Phoenix, Days of Future Past
FANTASTIC FOUR - we would probably need a whole building just for the FF! I think the easiest solution is to buy a high rise in Manhattan, rebuild it as the Baxter Building, and fill it with JB art. And an animatronic receptionist, of course!
ALPHA FLIGHT - selections representing each character, ".. And One Shall Surely Die" death of Guardian sequence, early sketches that were featured in the JB MARVEL CLASSIC ARTIFACT EDITION
AVENGERS 187 - "The Call of the Mountain Thing" cover (later the "Nights of Wundagore" trade cover art)
AVENGERS WEST COAST #43 - "Vision Quest" - final three page sequence showing disassembled Vision
AVENGERS WEST COAST #45 - "New Faces" - two page sequence of revived Vision
NEXT MEN #0 - "Prelude" - Tony escapes Hilltop sequence, team wakes up to real world sequence
NEXT MEN #5 - "Survivor" - fading of David sequence
NEXT MEN #20 - "Faith Part 2" - opening sequence and Walker/Donna investigation
NEXT MEN - Gary Cody cover selections
NEXT MEN: SCATTERED #3 (2011) - first four pages with Bethany
NEXT MEN: SCATTERED #6 (2011)- cover (Lincoln, Booth, Tony) and splash page
DOOMSDAY +1 - cover
DOOMSDAY.1 #3 - "Ashes to Ashes" - Statue of Liberty page, and final three pages (Aban Ghanem sequence)
WONDER WOMAN - I don't even know where to begin with this title!
FOURTH WORLD: I am thinking the merging of Apokolips and New Genesis?
ANGEL: BLOOD AND TRENCHES #1 - "Over There" first three pages
COLD WAR #1 - opening "silent" sequence
BATMAN #434-436 - "Many Deaths of the Batman" covers
STAR TREK: NEW VISIONS - a step by step display that demonstrates how the series art was created. Featuring cover and end scene to #10 "Mister Chekov"
STAR TREK: ROMULANS - one shot cover and splash page
STAR TREK: ASSIGNMENT EARTH - trade cover
LEAONARD McCOY: FRONTIER DOCTOR - trade cover
STAR TREK: CREW #2 - "The Bottle" cover and first four pages
STOWAWAY TO THE STARS: "Dreamer" and "Spaceport"
SENSATIONAL SHE-HULK - GRAPHIC NOVEL - "Epilogue 1" - Jen and Reed Richards
SHE-HULK #31 - cover (Jen carrying JB)
SHE-HULK #50 - final two pages (Jen throws JB out of window)

Already I see I forgot to include BATMAN & CAPTAIN AMERICA and DARKSEID VS. GALACTUS: THE HUNGER - two of my favorites that would have to be represented.
And of course Superman - that is essential, although I don't feel qualified to pick what would go up.
We're gonna need a bigger museum!
