If you’re referring to Terry’s inks on SUPERMAN/SPIDER-MAN, that wasn’t done by Terry, but it was done with white-out
******
Not specifically, but yeah. Thanks for the answer. I’ve been wondering that for a long time.

Right NOW, I'd much rather see Mr. Palmer ink JB's pencis than Mr. Austin. Both are great inkers, but Palmer brings something lush and organic to our host's pencils that I really appreciated on XMHY.

I know I’m in the minority, and that JB even likes the combo, but I’ve just never been a fan of the pairing. Sinnott, either.

I agree with you Brian. Palmer tends to overwhelm the pencils and make the art from diverse pencillers like Byrne, Buscema, Epting, Colan and others all look the same. While that can be great for drawing "on model", it takes away from the pencillers own style.

I like Palmer for the rich, organic style he brings to the pencils... definitely know Tom Palmer inks when I see them! However, I do agree, his inks ARE just overwhelming enough to blot out much of what makes the penciler unique.

I do NOT agree that Palmer makes all pencillers look the same. I quite enjoy his inks over just about everyone else I’ve seen him over.

I think Palmer is a good match for Colan but beyond that I've never seen a pairing with him that I've liked.

Love Tom Palmer's inks over JB's pencils, also with Colan, John Buscema and Neal Adams. He frequently used zip-a-tones when he started out at Marvel, but gradually used it less and less.
He does have a distinct, very identifiable style (like Janson, Grainger, Colletta, Sinnott and Mooney who I could almost always identify, even as a young kid).

Alan Davis has used the term "casting" to refer to the linking up of certain artists with certain characters. It seems like it would work to describe inker pairings, too.

JB, if you don't mind venturing an opinion excluding yourself, what pairing of artist and inker at first blush would've seemed like odd casting but on the page really worked well?

I've never seen that! And I agree on that fourth panel! Unmistakably Kirby!
