Nobody really stays dead in comics forever. Particularly androids that can be rebuilt better than ever. I have no doubts the Vision will be back at some point after Bendis leaves Avengers.
My first exposure to the Vision:

Vision as a gumshoe complete with a dangling smoke? Good lord! If I hadn't seen it, i wouldn't have believed it.

Just wanted to say that I LOVED JB's re-design of The Vision... the white/
spectral/ghost/barefoot look was way more creepy and way more fitting
of the name 'Vision' than the original green/yellow (not saying I don't like
that look either, just that I prefer JB's version). Oh well.

That splash of the disassemble Vision by the Chief is one of hte all
time great pages. I love all of the really small detail work on
the wires and etc.
I spent hours staring at that one page when I was a kid.

I don't know how I missed that Vision as the detective mini series, but I loved the Avengers and the Vision, so I got to find that mini series right away.

Can you imagine having to ink it?

I didn't mind the Vision being torn in half so much because he is, well, the Vision. He can be brought back in just about anyone's book and at any time. It just comes down to when someone wants to do a good Vision story and bang, there he is.
On that note, I am intrigued by what is going on in YA. I think this has pretty good potential and I like the bit of mystery.

And not just having to ink it, but having to ink it enthusiastically!
(I am also enjoying the Young Avengers book. It's surprisingly good.)

There was a time back in the day that my favorite (besides Captain America)Avenger was The Vision.
I didn't like what JB did with him in WCA, but I was along for the ride because it was a compelling story, told by a great story teller.

I just wish he'd gotten to finish the story. Somehow I doubt that we'd have "Victor Shade" to kick around, or any of the other nonsense we put up with before the Bendis abortion of a story. (The only time that Vision was good after Byrne had him was a brief time during the early issues of Avengers with Busiek & Perez)
