Well, I'm sure as heck confused... if he wasn't intentionally suspended, can't his account be reactivated?

But when I checked his current profile, it states his last visit was, in fact, today (12/20/18)!!

And yet his status is still listed as "Not Active."

I'm so confused....

I want to add my voice to the chorus calling for a return of Robbie to these pages. Robbie's focus on the characters and the reality of the situations within the stories was a welcome change from the sturn und drang concerning creators, politics, and what have you. All of that is valid, but sometimes you just want to imagine what it would be like to have the Destroyer go up against Ultron.

Not that that was all Robbie brought to the party, but the focus on the fun of the genre is something I'm missing already.

Robbie, if you've decided to leave, that's fine and I respect your decision to do so. But if you do find yourself missing the place, I'd ask that you rethink the decision and consider a return. No board is perfect and we're never going to agree with the mods 100% of the time. Whatever issues may be keeping you away, 12,000+ posts* is a heck of an achievement to walk away from. Your participation here was a defining element of the board. You are missed, sir.

* I don't know if there's a means of determining how many threads members here have begun, but if there were, your thread count would be among the highest, making you akin a really luxurious bed sheet... :-)

I heard from Robbie after sending him a link to this thread, and asked if he wanted me to pass on/post this info and he said yes, so I will just post his words unedited. Hope it sheds light and/or leads to better relations. Sounds like something didn't happen with his new email address and that this is also part of his not posting and showing as 'not active'. I wonder too if some spam filter could have kept him from getting a JBF confirmation email? It's funny the garbage that gets through mine while important stuff doesn't. Anyway, here's what he wrote me...

---

I haven't been banned, and it's a shame there's speculation, bless them. I changed my e-mail address recently to a GMX one, and until a moderator re-approves the new e-mail address, my account will show as "not active", but I am still a member-in-limbo/waiting.

I still haven't received the link to GMX (whenever you change your e-mail address at JBF, you have to click on a confirmation link at the new e-mail address).

So Robbie is on his way back to us! It is a Christmas miracle! Let's hope that the necessary links and whatnot do not pose too substantial an obstacle to his return!

I have to use a blueyonder email account as this site
will not accept gmail, i would prefer to use just the
one email account, but that would mean leaving the site,
so i sympathise with Robbie. Is there nothing the mods
can do to accept modern email accounts?

Well, he states that he changed his email, that`s what`s
stopping him, so it could be he`ll be back, if his new
address is accepted.
