I ama along those who always enjoyed Franklin Richards's appearances. Being a young'un when I first met him, I think I loved the idea of being a kid in a superhero family. Certainly my own fantasies were vast and fill of potential.
My disappointment came with Franklin becoming the dus ex machina for universe altering events. I like my Franklin as a mutant, and not knowing what his powers are yet.

IMO, Franklin,Valerian,or any other kids of superheroes should only "exist" or appear in stories or comics set in an alternate future many years from now.

Thanks to the wonders of traveling through space and time via the Marvel multiverse, Franklin and Valeria are now both teenagers.
Since neither of them are going to be erased from history and memory, I guess I can live with it.
In all honesty, when JB briefly turned Franklin into an adult during his FF run, I was hoping that he'd stay that way -- and then fly off into space, never to be seen again...at least for a long while. (Yes, people would've compared this to what Winter did in MIRACLEMAN. Why care?)
I suppose this would've interfered with the plans for POWER PACK, though.

Unfortunately, that was pretty much the way FF #216 ended when the recently hyper-evolved Futurist went off to seek his destiny among the stars. That issue was also a primary one for Franklin as it was the first time in more than fifty issues that he had used his powers. Since JB worked on #216, the parallels and repetition would have been a little too much for readers, I think.

I loved Franklin in Power Pack. That seemed a great setting for him. And I loved seeing him in Days of Future Past if only briefly.

Never cared for Franklin much, but he was fine during the JB FF run. I agree with others that Sue having a baby was a mistake. That said, Sue having a miscarriage was one of the most powerful Fantastic Four stories I've read.

I believe Franklin was also one of "The Twelve" (a select group of high-powered mutants who represented the strongest of their kind) who were being coveted by Apocalypse for their power, back in the mid-80s.
Franklin being a mutant does lend some interesting crossover potential with the X-Men, but I don't recall much being done with it, at least back in the day.

To be clear, the emphasis is on “pseudo”. Franklin is a genuine mutant.

Ah yes. Of course he is a real mutant. Dunno why I thought otherwise.
Someday I hope for some discussion for the 2001 X-Men and why their restored powers weren't enough the devastate the sentinels. It seems that just Magneto, Rachel, and Franklin couldn't demolish a squad or six of them while Logan, Ororo, and Peter used the commotion as cover to get into the Baxter Building. Or basically... Magneto, Phoenix, and the unfettered potential of Franklin Richards seemed a lot for the sentinels to handle, to me.
