Knowing that Stan Lee didn't create the Marvel Universe until he was 39 (and being 39 myself), truly gives me hope that I can achieve greatness.

Am I the only one to think there are much more great people in heaven (if there is a heaven) than on earth ?

RIP Stan, thanks for what you brought to my life, I'm blessed.

Guess that's what a life if for, worth living and what is really eternal life, what you brought to people and leave behind, forever.

A true legend, incredible in what he achieved, especially in bringing the best out of other people.

Here he is singing with Peter Murphy from Bauhaus, which came up in my feed today

I learned about an interview with Stan Lee conducted by Marc Bolan of T-Rex ("Bang A Gong (Get It On)") many years ago and spent some time on the 'Net trying to find the elusive audio of that interview. It was done for ITV's "The Today Show" in Britain back in 1975, when Stan was promoting a new series "The Titans" (featuring reprints of Marvel's U.S. comics) for the British market. If there is any existing video footage, I don't know anything about it, but I did eventually find a snippet of audio from that interview.

Here is a video I edited to add visuals to that audio snippet ( I incorrectly had identified the BBC as the network where it first aired in the video. Later, a person commenting on the video straightened me out that it was on ITV and I made note of that in the video description):

Fascinating to hear Stan tell of Silver Surfer's creation, too.

Sad that we lost both icons now.

A sad day yesterday when I saw the news - his characters are so real to me that I feel that we haven’t lost just one man, but rather the voice of a group of friends has been silenced.
