So sad that he's now gone. RIP Stan the Man, what a legend and what a legacy to leave behind.

I loved his work and he will be missed greatly, if nothing else at this time than for his awesome cameos. I will reread some of my favorite Stan Lee comics in his honor.

One of the grand shapers of my childhood. I will miss him. He contributed greatly to my sense of wonder, my need to better myself and my desire for good over evil.

When I took a tour of Albany's state capitol building last summer, this was in the lobby and I couldn't help but smile. Is there any creator from the 20th century both directly and indirectly responsible for entertaining more people?

I'd met him (briefly) many times over the years. Back in, I think, 1986 - when "signings" weren't really a thing yet - I caught him on the show floor in Atlanta and asked him to sign my copy of FF #5. He graciously did so, proclaiming, "Well, there's ANOTHER cover I've ruined!"
Not so, sir; not so at all.
RIP, Mr. Lee.

Stan lived a full life and he'll be missed.
I'm going to celebrate his work by reading some of my favorites - his FANTASTIC FOUR with Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott and his AMAZING SPIDER-MAN with Steve Ditko and John Romita.

One of the first articles to pop up on my screen when I saw the news had this as the opening line. "Stan Lee, the single greatest contributor to comic book culture and creativity in the history of the format, has died at the age of 95."
While some might object to that description...I took some comfort that someone would describe him as such and that at least some people who know little of comic book history will read that line and think of Stan in that light.
