What about his boots. Even the Chief who I respect very much doesn't seem to feel bothered about them, but I don't know how you say it in English, I'll give it a try, the shafts are to short, they should almost reach the knees. Those boots are like something worn by a woman in the sixties, (leather?). This is going to be the most horrible rerun on this board so far, but at least it's small:

My homemade costume was probably more traditional. And this S-shield was made long before the Byrne shield, so I guess I based it on the movies, because it's big enough. Excited as I was I havn't taken of the glasses from playing Clark.

Swamp Thing for example comes out in 1982 and was made without much money (what you can see..) but the movie has still more charme then Catwoman, Elektra, Hulk and Hellboy together.. so costumes and money is not so important for me. Also Wes Craven did a good job as a director, who understands the main character.

You're using SWAMP THING as an example of good comic book movies?

Sure ! It was made in 82 without huge CGI effects and it was a low budget movie (trash) but with love done & a well characterized Swamp Thing + an "ok" script. Craven did a good job, i think. In every minute of the movie i feel like Iam in "Swamp Things world" (trashy, crazy atmosphere)..
So, after all: ..it worked for me (more than the Hellboy "video clip" or these Catwoman, Elektra, Hulk and Co. Trailers, all with sadly more than 90minutes running time .

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.  I re-watched SWAMP THING again recently, and just as I remembered, it's probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen, comic book or no.

RETURN OF THE SWAMP THING was worse still.  And don't get me started on the TV show and the abortive animated show.  Basically ol' Swamp Thing hasn't had a particularly great shake when it comes to media adaptations.

This is true.  And oddly enough, she looked exactly the same then as she does now.

This is a great costume and a great pic!  Betcha Clark has done the same with his glasses at least once in his career.

Whatever fountain of youth she's been drinking from, I want to find it and bottle it.

That looks like one of those pictures that's so heavily
airbrushed the subject didn't actually need to be
there when it was taken.

C'mon, Adrienne Barbeau swimming around naked in the swamp wasn't all that bad, was it?  Other than that, having never read a single SWAMP-THING comic book in my life, I thought the movie was pretty good.
