I have no great problems with the size of the S emblem. I just can't imagine how it will work. Unless it's glued to his chest -- and even that would present problems -- that 3D emblem is going to shift and buckle every time he moves his arms.

Maybe the new "S" emblem is 3-D this time because
it's really a super-cellophane dispenser--you know,
so he has plenty of extras in case he has to keep
throwing them at Non!

When I was a kid, coloring in Superman coloring books, I always colored Superman's costume blue (you know, Crayola blue), not the paler, more powder blue that it was in the comics. I've since wondered if the powder blue was some sort of shorthand for Crayola blue, because even though it was literally powder blue on the page, I always saw it as a deeper blue in my head.

*****

If we invoke the American flag -- which is, by the way, not really appropriate in Superman's case, since his costume is red, blue and yellow -- the blue areas should be very dark. On some flags it approaches black

.

Got a good chuckle out of that one, thanks Glen. Although, I always thought the cellophane was a hollogram created by the Fortress.

Orlando,

Do you have an explanation for the levitation beams coming out of the PZ Criminals' fingers?  I really need one.

Go and read some silver and bronze age Superman comics and you'll see that there were a lot of really far-out powers. Remember these movies were pre-Crisis by a good few years and therefore before JB's reboot. To people who complain about the flying back in time/ spinning the world backwards in the first movie i'd say the same. Things like that happened in the books at the time.

As someone who was alive and reading books at the time, pish tosh.  Superman did travel through time in the Silver Age, but he did not rip his shield off his shirt and throw it at someone, nor did he levitate people with his fingers.

The powers people are mentioning exhibited by Superman and the Kryptonians in Superman II were unique to the movie and it is misinformed to write it off as "that goofy old Silver Age."

So just because I never read the books first time around means I'm not allowed to comment on the period? Thanks
