Why oh why is it so dark? This isn't the X-men. This isn't Batman. Can someone color tweak it away from maroon back to red please!

This sounds like something my best friend JETB2 would say about his favorite superhero... I mean, he did have an almost life-size cutout of Reeves' Superman in his living room...

Feel free to email me about this at dissonance78@yahoo.com

"JETB2?"

Who's your best friend, a droid from Star Wars?

I don't care for this version of the classis costume.  The smaller S is bad enough but why do we always need to have everything darkened?  Jeez, it's Superman! Why darken the red to scarlet/crimson???

It's a funny thing stumbling upon this forum  when I did, because I was just watching  S I a couple of days ago and it was then  that I started thinking that maybe there is some time difference from the funeral and when he began his journey up north.

No as far as the new suit, I don't mind the changes. He's been my favorite comic hero for a long time and in  that  time I've seen so many different  looks to him and his suit I don't see how one can say that one incarnation is the right one or not. Personally I've always wished that some one wood change it a little more drastically,  like for starters get rid of that underwear part. Boxers, briefs, or speedo who's cares, get rid of it. As for the new red, I'm not crazy about it, but I will live with it. The colors of the suit are ok with me but I do think the black and silver  from some comic pages and Late "lois and Clark"  looks kind of sweet.  I have however always wished the Reeve's suit was a llittle  deeper blue.

Now it's been talked about the smaller s on the chest. No problem for me. I know many of you say it should be larger but if we go with the view that most people seem to have that, the original is the actual, then it would seem that the s should be smaller.

&nbs p; All in all , I just hope the movie is good and that I can buy Routh as superman. I bought in to Dean Cain being Clark Kent, he didn't feel right as Superman. I think it was because I felt  he had it backwards. HIs Clark was confidant and sure of himself where as his Superman seemed a little uneasy. I would have like to have seen Tom Welling, but I will give this Superman a chance. I also think Spacey will be good Lex, different from Rosenbaum, but a Like similar to Gene Hackman's "Greatest criminal mind of all time."  Personally of all the versions of lex that I have seen, I have always felt that John Glover's Lionel Luther is how I envisioned Lex to be.

Maybe Singer and the designers are influenced more by classic 1940's Superman than the 80's versions. The S is much smaller on this Superman.

It's almost like they did a Queer Eye for the Super Guy on him.
-------------------------------------------------

I find the Gay comments about his costume funny. Seriously, guys what super hero costumes do not look gay? We could start a list of the ones that do not and it would be a short list at that. Its either tights, hot pants, or leather that wrap up your favorite masked man.

Long-time friend and on again, off again comic book fan asked
me if I'd seen the pics of the new Superman. I said yes and we
both began complaining about the costume. I said, "...and the
shorts, did you see how they were...." I couldn't come up with
the right words to describe them and he said:

"Sugar shorts."

I thought that was perfect.

That was my first reaction when I saw Routh in the
new outfit--"Sort of looks like the Golden Age
Superman." Which is why I didn't have a big problem
with it.
