Why a letter to Donner, when he was removed? Send a letter to WB to release the footage from the vault.

"Dear Warner Brothers

We want to see the footage where Clark and Lois are in Metropolis, not in Canada."

or something.

And why not restore Cannon Film's Superman IV Quest for Peace. It's not as good, I know, but half the movie is probably missing. Suddenly Clark is old. That's the missing part. I have also seen pictures of another Atom Man, Luthor's first creation. Who owns Cannon Films today? They are probably happy hearing from fans.

Lars, with "Superman II" Warner Brothers would be restoring good to a decent film to begin with. With "Superman IV," it would be like adding crap to crap. Do you really want to subject yourself to such a torture?

Maybe we can start a petition urging Warners to burn the negative for SUPERMAN IV...

Well, it did have Jon Cryer breakdancing, so maybe I speak in haste...

Matt, we don't know how crappy the Superman IV footage is since we haven't been able to see it. I "borrowed" the breakdancing scene for a comic book I worked on.

There was no Superman IV.

And I'm sticking to that.

DC Comic's comic book adaptation includes some of the scenes that did not make the final cut in the theatrical release.

Based on what they left in, I'm actually afraid of what they left out...

I might be mistaken, but as far as I know, the footage with "Nuclear Man I" from Superman IV simply doesn't exist anymore.  Seems sort of hard to believe, but then again, I'm sure a low-budget outfit like Cannon didn't place film preservation high on its priorities list.

Oh yes- I'd also be terribly keen on getting a copy of the Donner Superman II.

The thing is they will have to pay him since he will be the director.

I meant the copy being discussed in this thread- y'know, the one people are offering to trade and copy?
