Yahoo to seeing that much of Colossus, of the second wave of X-Men he's my favorite. Cyclops is my favorite of the originals. So these pages have been an extra treat for me. Like ice-cream with hot fudge, caramel and chocolate sprinkles. The awesomeness keeps coming!

I love how clearly the storytelling expresses that Colossus isn't just fighting - he's *protecting* people.

It would be cool to see this whole issue come out multiple times, with different inkers taking a try at it including JB.

3 more pages to go -- this has been a fantastic ride!

"Circular" cliffhanger? No idea where this is headed...

Colossus has been my favorite since my introduction to the X-Men.

"RAZOR" is addressed to my imaginary inker, to indicate that I want scratch technique on the blast impact.

And, meanwhile, here's some tinkering with the first page, Sauron looking more like himself.

I've also modified the subsequent pages. Immediately looks vastly better, at least to my eyes!

Wonderful pencils!

These pages have prompted me to reread HIDDEN YEARS, my favorite JB series.

As for your "imaginary inker" I tried to mimic Austin on a page, couldn't do it.
I swear, he must dip his exacto knife in ink!

Second panel of the new page -- that netting the AIM guys over their eyes. That detail reminds me of how JB is the paradigm of what I liked about Marvel. It's a detail that is familiar, but one that had slipped to the back of my mind. Reading Byrne comics often has the fun aspect of reminding you of familiar and welcome things that you hadn't seen in a while. It's why drawing on-model is the way it should be.

Heh! No, but he does use a nib pen, which brings a certain mechanical quality to the line.

Colossus is going to need a new outfit after that razor attack!
Love the pages, JB.
