In that video, I love JB's spontaneous demurring head-shake upon being called "the great."

And yet, Mr. Byrne, you managed to set up a crossover of sorts with Generations anyhow!

Well, I did get the SHIPS OF THE LINE calendar, last year, but only because it was TOS-centric (since it was released in late 2016, in honor of the 50th anniversary). Since this year’s calendar went back to a mix of ships from the entire span of series and movies, I instead bought the traditional, character-based calendar. I really dig it though. The use of the Bridge computer panel graphics is a very nice touch.
Anyway, if this series does indeed happen, it might just make me buy a new Marvel book for the first time in 15 years. Which is no small accomplishment!

Jim Shooter used to say that every letter received represented something like 16,000 readers. No idea where he got that number, and it was, of course, back in the days when a book got cancelled if it sold 100,000 units. But a recurrent comment I have seen, about this "project", is that it would cause people to buy Marvel again. If we applied Shooter's doctrine to the number of comments I've seen, that would represent about 300,000 readers!!

That video is fantastic! What a great interview - really interesting to hear you talk through how this thread transpired. I’m glad you are talking about this while the situation develops.
I appreciate that the host mentioned Byrne Robotics by name - this website is such a great place, and I hope anyone reading JB’s work comes by to see that JB interacts with readers directly.
Having these pencils posted and with the release of JB’s X-MEN ARTIFACT EDITION has been an amazing way to revisit JB’s original run on X-MEN. It had such a big impact on me, and it’s a delight to revisit this world.
The idea of publishing PHOENIX: THE UNTOLD STORY as issue #0 is a fantastic idea - a great solution to getting into this “reality”

And I notice the video runtime is 4:44 - either a fun coincidence, or the editor is a fan of JB’s FANTASTIC FOUR with a sense of humor!

Count me among those who would purchase a Marvel comic for the first time in years! I love getting a peek inside your studio. Look at all those reference books (and figures)!
