I think it's pretty clear from this thread that the FANTASTIC FOUR needs your "back to basics" approach the most, JB. Not a reboot but a continuation of your last run.

(Plus no one draws them better than YOU.)

We need to do away with continuity and just let Writers and Artists do their own version/run of a series and not be bogged down by baggage.

REALISTICALLY,
Marvel is currently promoting their new FF creative team, so they won't hand over the keys right away. Having said that, if JB started work tomorrow on issues that won't see print until next calendar year, that may fit into their publishing plan.

Ideally, for this to work, I would hope JB could work autonomously and have no interference from company wide continuity.
Easy answer: Stories set in the past. Therefore, INVADERS.

Heck, he himself JUST said here on the Forum a few days ago that he would have liked to have taken a crack at them.

Soft spot for She-Hulk.

But yeah, a Doctor Strange series would be awesome !

JB should do a self contained story...something from the past. That Alan Davis X-men/Hulk was a great read . Then he won't have to get caught up in all the continuity . Anything X-men , FF , Avengers or Defenders . I also liked the Tomb of Dracula mentioned here .

Really , anything at all would be amazing.

If you went back to Marvel, I would expect you to start with your own set of  characters.
Create your own team. That way, you are not bound by barnacles that the current characters have built up.
These characters could be alien. The Marvel Universe is big. I'm sure there is a corner that has not yet been explored. That way, you can play to one of your many strengths, that being the cosmic story.
Why limit yourself to what is already there.

Best!

Although I would love a new Alpha Flight book, I just don't see Marvel being interested. I think a realistic return should involve something retro (like the Invaders), because it seems Marvel is too vested in the cinematic universe right now.

1. Invaders (set in World War II), with a sister title for the Liberty Legion
2. X-Men: the Hidden Years
3. Dr. Strange
4. The Squadron Supreme
5.  The Defenders (classic)

I basically used to purchase anything you worked on, because I so enjoyed both the art and story.  So, the easy answer is "anything that appealed you".

But, since you asked.... I'd have loved to see a Doctor Strange run.

Oh, dear dog!! I return to Marvel and the first thing that happens is that I get thrown into a crossover event?!?

Well, you did say realistic!

Sentimentally, I would say Fantastic Four.

I also think Dr. Strange could work really well.

Mark, the question was "realistically", not sentimentally. So with that in mind, what would it be? Keeping in mind that Marvel is vested in the screen versions of the MCU, so that would leave out Dr. Strange, the Avengers, etc.
