I appreciate the zeal gang, but let me ask you again to limit your choices to five or six artists, and just one character per artist please.

Ok this might be a bit off the wall because the big names (heroes I mean) have all been taken.

Mike Zeck: Punisher
Todd McFarlane: Venom
Alex Ross: Old Superman
Curt Swan: Bizarro
John Byrne: She-Hulk
John Romita: Ms. Marvel
Tony Moore: Deadpool

Deep cuts!

John Byrne - The Fantastic Four (and that includes She-Hulk, since was a member during his run!)
George Perez - The New Teen Titans
Jim Aparo - The Spectre
Herb Trimpe - The Incredible Hulk
Bob Layton - Iron Man
Mike Grell - Green Arrow

Perez and the NTT is a special standout for me, because I truly never enjoyed any other artists' work on them.

Carmine Infantino is the ultimate Flash artist for me.

When I think of JB, I still think of the FF.

Walt Simonson’s Thor is the real Thor.

Mike Mignola = Hellboy

Justice League of America - Dick Dillin

This was the artist on JLA when I was reading as a young boy and the one I identify the most with.  And it was a 12 year run!!  So sad he was only 51 when he passed away. :(

I remember Dick Dillin. Bob Brown, John Verpoorten, Frank Chiaramonte, Don Newton and Gene Day, plus Russ Manning and Wally Wood all seemed to die around that time. Duffy Voland I suppose too.

Thought of another one, nobody else was as 'right'...
Dave Gibbons - Doctor Who

John Byrne's Wolverine has always been light years ahead of the rest.

See the problem with lists like this is
JB. He us SO good at somemany characters
it blows the curve, so to speak. It's one
of the reasons I love his art. But, I
guess I'll give it a try.

John Byrne:Superman
Neal Adams:Batman
George Perez:Wonder Woman
Michael Kaluta:The Shadow
Alan Davis:Captain America
Lee Weeks:Incredible Hulk
Bernie Wrightson: Frankenstein's Monster
John Buscema: The Vision
Walt Simonson: Thor
