John Belushi's character in CONTINENTAL DIVIDE has a pretty straightforward way of dealing with an attacking mountain lion. He kicks it in the b*lls.

In "Live and Let Die", I recall that the crocodile keeper tells Bond how to disable a croc... jam a pencil in the depression hole behind its eye, or put your hand in its mouth and pull its teeth out.
I'm sure that tigers are just as easy to defeat. :P

I had read about this story before. If i remember correctly there was a theory that the area of the crocodile's brain that controlled aggression was damaged when it was shot.

That's interesting.
I have seen people close to hippos and rhinos, animals that, whilst not reptiles, wouldn't seem the kind to be domesticated.
Whatever next? People riding zebras...

As I understand it hippos are mean as hell when the need arises. African natives are often terrified of them.

Its amazing to see these aberrations of the norm. Makes me wonder what the norm should really be? Thanks to youtube I've seen quite a few animals that responded well to human affection. Could it be that love does conquer all?

Robert, I love you. A lot. And I hope you love me, too. Fill your heart with nothing but love over the weekend. And then pick up a cobra. Let me know how it goes. ;-)

Maybe a cobra raised by me starting from birth? Hey....it could happen! I'd design a snake leash and take her out for a walk in the neighborhood too. Kids could come by and pet her. #SnakesArePeopleToo

I've seen a couple different news stories about these two companions over the years.
The crocodile was shot in the part of the brain that controls predatory instincts and aggressive behaviour. It was essentially lobotomized.
The two "played" together as depicted in the video, for over 20 years, until the crocodile died of natural causes. There never was an incident where "the wild animal turned on the human".
